Day 2 draft coverage:
Ok, does anyone else have a problem with the way ESPN and NFLN cover day 2? All they do basically is analyze day 1 and inteview GMs, coaches, and players. Why does day 2 take a back seat to day 1? I'd love to see them cover day 2 more like they cover day 1. Let's hear some analysis of each pick and see some highlights.
I would agree with you on ESPN. NFLN was pretty good at covering the guys taken in Round 3, though I'm not currently watching right now. |
We pick @ 124, 157, 186, 228, 242, and 249
Thanks for the update, I will request another one if we trade out again ;) |

We already know what happened in Day 1, we know the players who we're taking and what they bring to the table. In Day 2 they should analyze the players more because the fans don't know as much about these players as they do the ones selected in Day 1. |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
we should of asked the titans for more do you see how many picks they have in the 4th

GIVE ME SOME INFO ON RINEHART!!! No, they interview Jack Del Rio about yesterday's pick. I don't care, focus on today! |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Day 2 analyze the players that are being picked now or just talk about the SKINS! HAIL TO THE SKINS
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Vinny Cerrato is really working this draft. All of you guys who were saying WTF about the picks in the 2 round will be eating your words. I believe that our needs will be met by the conclusion of this draft. I'm really going to give Cerrato all of the credit in the world of during the necessary research on this draft. I believe he is bringing all of what he learned in the San Fran days. The analysts always say that Cerrato is a mastermind of evaluating talent in the draft. Let's get the pass rusher so everyone will be happy including me!!!

It's almost not even worth watching. I'm just watching the draft tracker now on ESPN. |

I would like to see some defensive players taken soon.... but lets not give our cousin Vinny "all the credit in the world" until we see how many of these guys make the team, contribute, and most importantly we win more games... |
Thomas and Kelly might not start but I expect they will both play significant roles in multiple WR sets.
Yes. I agree. But I think the hope is that they become "the tandem" two or three years from now. While neither is a burner, I imagine the thought is that Thomas becomes a deep threat and Kelly the underneath guy. Here's a radical and hopeful thought - Thomas and Kelly become good enough to be the one and two with Santana being the 3rd to add deep speed and a change of pace WR. |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Wow a 4th rounder for Fabian Washington, thats a steal. Yeah I started to watch espn earlier in bed and it sucked. So i migrated to the living room where the SAT. is, and turned on NFL Net.

That would have been a well recommended trade by me.... hopefully we have some guys on our board to fill some back up defensive backfield |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
There's still a lot of good defensive talent, I'm hoping we get one of these guys with our fourth rounder provided another team doesn't take them: Erin Henderson, LB Maryland, Dre Moore DT Maryland, and Xavier Adibi, OLB Virginia Tech. I really hope nobody takes Adibi, he's the one I'm hoping for. And I turned the tv off lol, I just watch the draft tracker on ESPN.com.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Erin Henderson would be fine with me, as long as there are some defensive line and secondary picks coming soon too
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
At #124 I am looking at Josh Barrett S ASU, Geno Hayes LB FSU, Orlando Scandrick CB Boise St., Erin Henderson LB Maryland, DeMario Pressley DT NC State.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Man, it'd be sweet if they can get Moore and Henderson...yeah yeah I'm being a homer...but I wouldn' tmind cheering on these guys in the pros like I did when they were at UMD.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I want them to take either the other De from Hampton or the cb from Nebraska or Jamar Adams from Michigan
|

Dre Moore went to the Bucs at #115. |

Moore and Adibi just went off the board. |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
We're up in a few picks, fellas.
I'm pulling for a DLineman here..but since that's what I want, I'll bet they take a good DB. |

Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Dlineman are flying off the board now....Dallas on the clock.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Man there's a huge run on defensive players right now. We better take one at #124 while we still can.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread

yeah they will be taking one... but just because everyone else is going defense is the worst reason to do it... |
yeah they will be taking one... but just because everyone else is going defense is the worst reason to do it...
I want every pick to be defense. I could care less if other teams are doing it. |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Skins up...here we go.

True, but we do need a defensive players at the line or defensive back. Hopefully someone on their board is available....we're on the clock! |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
do we go LB here? hmmm
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
do we go LB here? hmmm
Why would we do that? I don't see much of a need at LB. If there is a decent d-linemen in there we need to jump on that, or a CB. |
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
theres the CB
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
J.T. Tryon CB from ASU.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
Justin Tryon CB ASU
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
justin tryon, i was hoping trae williams if we were going CB
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
We went CB not bad
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
DB...hmm good...although they just said he's a 7th rounder. Oh well, we need a DB.
|
Re: The official 2008 draft discussion thread
I've had house guests all weekend so I really haven't had much of a chance to post.... I also don't have time to read 900+ posts on this thread, but why, why why would we take two WRs? With corner and O-line such a pressing need...
Justin Tryon- Az State- I think when Arizona to Calais Campbell right in front of us we panicked and just took the top rated player on our board. This was not smart at all IMO. |
