Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
This is interesting (from Twitter)...
PaulTenorio RT @SI_RossTucker 2 notes from Schefter on Sirius: McNabb "handpicked" Skins and there has been "zero discussion" of new contract thus far. less than a minute ago via web
|
Yup. Cerrato trades high draft pick(s) for a big name vet past his prime, and he's the biggest moron in the NFL!!
Allen/Shanny trade a high draft pick for a big name vet past his prime and people rejoice?? I'll never understand our fan base. Sure, this is for a QB (something we've needed forever), but the fact remains we have many other pressing needs, and now only 4 draft picks to address them. The Patriots have three times that many by the way. The best teams in this league build through the draft. I've been "wait and see" on Allen/Shanny since day one. That fact remains. Big time.
Actually, Cerrato traded a second round pick for Jason Taylor, and a majority of people rejoiced. If this end of the interwebs was any indication, it was the exact same voices as well. There was more ambiguity in the Jason Taylor trade, like maybe we were going to use him creatively in a way that the Dolphins hadn't (sorry to remind you). Here, we have to wonder what the heck Shanahan knows about extending McNabb's career that Andy Reid didn't. Because if this is a battle of understanding quarterbacks, I'm jumping ship on Shanahan. He's going to get crushed if it's just his assessment of a player against Reid's. There's got to be more here, I would think. |
The one thing I wonder ,if you think this will open up the #4 pick for possible trades... do you think now that we wont be drafting a quarterback (i'd have to think), that more teams will be looking to trade up if they want a QB? You'd have to think that Seattle, Cleveland and even maybe Oakland could possibly draft a QB so maybe a team will trade up with us to try to grab Clausen?
I would hope the staff thinks we can trade down, still bet a quality LT and pick up a second. Maybe then maybe draft a Tebow/McCoy. The idea of Tebow learning under McNabb is intriguing. |

Yeah, I would say, plus JC is now a chip, maybe for a mid-rounder. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Think of all the QBs that have been rumored to be coming here via trade the past few years-Favre, Vick, Cutler, Hasselbeck-had to get rid of Vinny to finally make it happen!
sort of off-topic, but huge day in sports tomorrow-McNabb trade talk, MLB opening day, NCAA Championship game, Tiger speaks at Augusta
I'm interested to hear what Tiger thinks of McNabb. He'll make it all make sense. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Not that I'm comparing McNabb with Elway, but maybe Shanny can help McNabb win a SB the way he helped Elway.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Damn, still can't believe it. Talk about earthquake on the west coast, we just had our own fellas!!!

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
If you guys dont think this trade is freakin exactly what we needed.....The numbers say it all
2009 Philadelphia Eagles Mc Nabb stats 22 td's- 10 Ints-3,553 yards- 92.3% completions %......Havent seen those numbers in Washington since Doug Williams!! |

Wait, no, sorry, they are similar players even in the amount a super bowl win would mean to their detractors. Although we could beat Philly in the NFC Championship. |

If this happens we would have McNabb 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th & 7th draft picks. FO would be genius!!!!! Think about it it's possible. |
Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
BMitch seems to like the move, as does Trevor Matich.

But the game isn't just about stats in a box score |
