Went 1 for 7 with 6 strike outs and 5 BB. Honestly his second plate appearance of middle game I was hoping Voth would have challenged him more but a five pitch walk. I haven’t really watched his games leading up to 61 so don’t know but did O’s pitch him like other teams have? I do hope he gets 62 this season should be mvp |

What’s Judge’s free agency number gonna be?
What’s Judge’s free agency number gonna be?
It's going to be insane. He already rejected a massive offer in the spring from the Yankees that many felt he would have accepted. Fully except him to get the largest contract in MLB history. He could literally tell the Yankees his demands pretty much. Would be shocked if he's not a long term Yankee, but his market is going to be nuts.

Don’t worry about it. Hal Got it covered. Now he can rest a game before he fucks up Houston in the ALCS. |

Many also felt he would bet on himself for a better offer. What nobody saw coming was the greatest season in MLB history. No way we let him go. No way. |

Glad he got it done…imo i don’t recognize bonds, Big Mac. Judge is just a good dude, very humble, great family. That’s coming from a guy who pulls for the Mets |

Doesn't mean we don't lose our 1st series to Cardinals or Phillies, but we're in the best possible situation we can be in. |
Re: MLB thread
You can put a * next to anything you want, to fit your narrative.
MLB allowed for rampant steroid use when Bonds set the record, so all those numbers count. Unless we're all liars and pretend like only batters cheated. The new Yankees Stadium is a little sandbox. You hit a little fly to right and you get a HR. Should Judge get a * next to all of his HRs to right in that shitty stadium? No, you play it as it lies. |
Re: MLB thread
Why do we even care about league centric records anymore? Judge has had an amazing season no doubt but all this hoopla over an "AL record" is a little silly to me.

My god Max…what the fuck?

Re: MLB thread
Some really fun divisional match ups including several rivalry games.
Pulling for Philly (although don't mind Atl) SD Clev Sea |

WC round needs to be best of 5, after that best of 7 rest of the way.

All of these extra wild card teams is lame. Baseball was nice that it wasn't like hockey/basketball, where you simply have to not suck to make the playoffs. Should still be 4 teams in each league, and both series are 7 games. 3 and 5 games is too small for baseball. But it will never go back. If anything, more teams will get added. |

I'd even through NFL in there. No difference between 14 teams and 16 IMO. The early playoff games for the most part are chock full of mediocrity. I will say for hockey even a 1-4 match up usually goes 6 games but I always thought baseball had the best playoffs in the past. |

If the Padres don't win the World Series, this baseball season was a disaster.

Re: MLB thread
This is the grossest World Series ever.

Re: MLB thread
Looking forward to tonight. Kind of torn about pulling for Phillies or Trey Mancini. I might go to game 5 if it happens.

But from living in SD I always pulled the Padres when they weren't playing the Braves. Funnily enough, the last time and only the 2nd time they made it to the WS, they knocked the Braves out on the road there. But that was before I moved down there. So I didn't hold it against them because I wasn't around to hear about it. Shockingly, I'm rooting for the Phillies over the Astros. It would be funny to have 2 straight NL East fans beat them in the World Series. And the Nationals beat them too. The Astros must hate the NL East. |
Re: MLB thread
Phillies goin for an all time cinderella story. Unreal.

Baseball was soul crushing for at the end of the year…the only thing that made me smile was Dusty Baker getting his first World Series title as manager. This dude earned it, very happy and his fam. |

I barely watched after the Mets got bounced, yeah I'm still bitter.

Three-time Cy Young Award winner Justin Verlander has agreed to a two-year, $86 million deal with the New York Mets, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Monday. Not a bad replacement! |
