I'd say yes but reports are he wants $5 mill a year. I'd take him for like $2 mill or $2 1/2 mill. |
i read the PFT article, then read where they got their information from (or atleast the espn article they have linked as a source) and PFT took some serious liberties in streching what rex said.
You're surprised? :D |
Re: Redskins Sign Grossman
i dont see how PFT took any liberties with what was in the ESPN article. they both basically said the same thing. what am i missing?

Grossman wants to start | ProFootballTalk.com
everyone wants to start if a QB told me "I just wanna stand on the sidelines and hold a clipboard" I'd cut him immediately |

your right, i read both articles, made my comment. read your comment, re-read both articles and they do say pretty much the same thing. the titles of the article show a contrast. espn title: he wants to be in the mix. PFT article: he wants to start. when i clicked on the PFT article the first time i expected him to say he wants to start for the skins. clicking on the espn article he says he definetly thinks he can be a starter again. i would say PFT did dangle a misleading cliff-hanging title there, but i was wrong. |
The 29-year-old Grossman said the Redskins haven't told him what his role is, but that he believes his career will have a strong second half as a starter.

He said the Redskins did not discuss his role with them, but he is looking at this as "a stepping stone to the second half" of his career.
the bold part |

Good catch. Here was his actual entire quote: "Yeah, that's my goal," Grossman said. "I wanna start in this league at some point and get back there and play. Every quarterback that plays in the NFL wants to start, so that's kind of an odd question, I guess. But I definitely think I can and I've got a lot of confidence in myself, and hopefully this is a stepping-stone to the second half of my career." |

He has accomplished a hell of a lot more than JC. I think the most important part of the article was that he said the coaches have not made any promises to him. |
