Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
I don't think McCloughan would have taken the job unless he was assured (and probably written into his contract) that he would have total control over the roster. I don't think it's any coincidence that shortly after he took over is when Gruden came out and said Griffin would be the starter heading into the offseason.

I would announce that RGIII will not play vs. Baltimore due to his concussion vs. the Lions. After that, I would start Robert in the final preseason game and have the first team play one very vanilla series. Then, I would say nothing more than "Robert is our starting QB" prior to starting him in the first game of the season. That should satisfy Snyder and and protect my job until RGIII gets hurt and I can put in my choice at QB. |

This is Snyder's call. That's not to say McCloughan isn't also on board with this, I suspect he may not have been hired if he wasn't. But Snyder, I know, said on multiple occasions last year that RG3 has to be the starter if healthy. I've been told that directly from people would know that. And going into this summer I've heard the same indirectly from people. |

Pretty much if gruden cannot develop rg3 both are gone. Is that pretty much the deal with McC? I guess is rg3 went down and Kirk could somehow be gruden saving grace if he would could get them close to the playoffs. |

I hate it, but I think there's less than a 5% chance RG3 returns in 2016. As for Gruden, I think he returns for 2016. Beyond that? Guess it depends if he can show he can win a QB that isn't RG3 |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
Well.....it has not looked very promising last season and so far this that any of these guys are the answer.
What the hell! Might as well start a 2016 draft thread...right now. |

As it is right now, however, with the way RG3 is playing, unless he improves, the best I see is 4-12. |

As long as Scott is on board that's all I care about. It would be hard to believe he would have signed on otherwise. |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
I do not really disagree with you. Both Colt and KC look better and run the O better than Robert at this time. BUT, they need some time with the first team to see if they can handle it. In the past they both have had serious ball control/turnover problems..........

What make u think rg3 can develop into a pocket passer? U seem pretty adamant that this is still a possibility. So was gruden the wrong coach to make this happen or is it the complete failure of Sean mcvay. It's amazing to me how unnoticed Sean mcvay is to fans. We give grief to gruden and rg3...but mcvay is giving some sort of pass. Unbelievable IMO. |

Jay Gruden is a lame duck coach. He's fucked and he probably knows it(we do at least). Hey, at least he walks away with a shit ton of cash from those extra 3 years remaining on his contract. |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
50+ other players on this roster. I support whoever is wearing a Redskins Uniform but if RG3 is stinking it up and showing no sign of improvement. He needs to be replaced by Kirk

Most QBs have ball control issues in their first 9 starts. The weird thing is many of them get better the more they play. |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
It's hard for us Skins fans to face this one hard truth: we don't have a quarterback.
So all the consternation over who starts, I don't think it really matters too much. I can't blame Snyder for saying if healthy RG3 has to start. None of the other QBs have stepped forward in a way that screams that they're obviously better than RG3. If we're going to be competitive it's on the rest of the team. So McLoughan marches forward with building up the rest of the team, and probably knowing that QB is high on his shopping list next season. Tough reality to swallow, but that's it. |
