Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
Hog1, here's one from the City Paper dated August 14, 2009:
"Snyder’s scheme could be seen as vindictive, also. These everybody-pays parking fees come just as he’s feuding with the Jericho City of Praise Church over—you guessed it—parking. For years, the massive church, located adjacent to FedExField, has been leasing its parking lots to Snyder on Redskins game days. He allowed Redskins season ticket holders who had purchased 10-game parking passes to use the leased property. But negotiations between the team and the church to continue the leasing arrangement broke down during the offseason. The staff at the business office at Jericho City of Praise tells me that the church will take control of the lots on game days, and charge $35, cash only. That amounts to competition, and history is pretty clear on what Snyder does to parking competition. In 2001, Snyder got Prince George’s County to ban pedestrians from walking to FedEx on game days. His lawyers argued that the walk-in ban was necessary for the safety of ticket holders." I think that's enough to illustrate that I'm talking about facts.
It appears it has become your....life to prove that Dan is the Antichrist? Not just some egotistical sports team owner with a bad club? If not, in all your ramblings, do you by any chance have a point? Is it possible you could state it in say....a couple of sentences? |

Dan's controlling nature and his love for RG3 are the reasons why I and several other on this site believe that no matter what RG3 may do wrong or KC/Colt do right, the starting Quarterback on September 13 will be RG3. Personally I just wish that Dan Synder would allow his own coaches to chose the Quarterback that can best run the Offense, and best run the team. Please understand that I am seriously hoping that RG3 can turn things around, as he is the most athletic of the Quarterbacks that we have, but right now he doesn't look confident and he doesn't like a professional quarterback. Unless RG3 looks a whole lot better in the last two preseason games, right now I would feel a lot more comfortable seeing either Colt McCoy or Kirk Cousins as the starting Quarterback. |

WTF's wrong with you? Scott in his press conferences....stated...in plain language. "Robert has To much potential....To much upside (not to mention TO much invested) to NOT BE absolutely sure he cannot do it before we kick him to the curb" paraphrasing a bit AND....KC or Colt may prove to be the man (God how I wish they would). But that Sure As Hell has not been the case to date.... You watched last year right? |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
The problem is most of you are looking at this through the eyes of a fan who wants to win right away, so of course you want to play the backups when the starter struggles. That's understandable, but Scot is looking at the big picture. I think he realizes that this team is not going to win with any of our QBs anytime soon, so why wouldn't he play the guy that has had the most success and is the most physically talented? In the meantime, while he finds out if Griffin can be effective again, he is working on building up the talent around the QB position.
Maybe you think Cousins or McCoy should be that guy, but McCloughan and Jay are around these guys all the time. Is it that hard to believe that Griffin really is the best option? I know Keim has said he has no issue with the QB depth chart after viewing some of the camp practices. The notion that Snyder is the reason Griffin is starting is very unlikely to me. McCloughan does not come across as a fool, I doubt he would have come here if he thought there was even a tiny chance Snyder would meddle like that. |
Re: Robert Griffin III ready to turn career around with Redskins in 2015
Oh I agree 100% that Robert gets every chance to prove he can be the man…but when is enough..How many games does he have to stink it up before somebody says enough already??? my question was IF RGlll stinks it up at Ravens what then? the last pre season game means nothing..starters don't really play..so we start regular season with RGlll in a game at home that we could win with average QB play…why not Let Cousins or McCoy start at Ravens ..see what they got..we know what Robert has. You guys Seem smart to me and most all of you make great points..IF YOU WERE THE HEAD COACH AND YOUR FUTURE WAS RIDING ON IT ..WHO WOULD YOU GO WITH AT QB??..lets here it ..

I agree with everything that you said! I will take your challenge... Personally, right now I would have to say Colt McCoy is the Quarterback that I would go with on September 13. And his back-up would be Kirk Cousins. I know that I am probability going to get blasted for my choice, but of the three quarterback on the Redskins roster right now Colt McCoy is the Quarterback that seems the most professional and confident. Also the offensive seems to run the most smoothly with Colt McCoy at quarterback. Okay, so I said my piece, what do others think? |

Cousins. Even though I doubt we have any qb on our roster that isn't, at maximum, a backup.

Have you seen this preseason? McCoy, Cousins continue to out-play RG3 Posted by Michael David Smith on August 21, 2015, 3:43 PM EDT Kirk Cousins, Rashad Ross AP If Washington’s quarterback depth chart were determined by on-field performance, Robert Griffin III would be firmly entrenched at third string. Although coach Jay Gruden insisted after Thursday’s preseason game against the Lions that Griffin will remain the starter, that game showed once again what we’ve seen throughout Gruden’s tenure as Washington’s coach: Colt McCoy and Kirk Cousins are simply playing better football than Griffin. So far this preseason, McCoy has a 131.6 passer rating and has led Washington’s offense on three touchdown drives. Cousins has a 118.3 passer rating and has also led Washington’s offense on three touchdown drives. Griffin has a 54.6 passer rating, and Washington has yet to score a touchdown with Griffin on the field. You can argue that the preseason is too small a sample size to draw any conclusions, and that Griffin is playing against better defensive players than Cousins and McCoy are. But Griffin’s sub-par performance goes beyond just this year’s preseason. Last year Griffin started seven games, Cousins started five and McCoy started four. Washington wasn’t a particularly good team no matter who was starting, but according to ESPN’s QBR system, which combines both statistics and film study into one number on a 0-100 scale, Griffin was easily the worst of the three. McCoy had a 46.9 QBR, Cousins had a 46.5 QBR and Griffin had a 33.5 QBR. The Football Outsiders DVOA system, which uses play-by-play data to assess quarterbacks, similarly had Griffin as by far the worst of Washington’s three quarterbacks. Given all that, it’s surprising that Gruden is so adamant that Griffin will continue to start. Perhaps Gruden is still intrigued by the great promise Griffin showed in his rookie season. Perhaps Dan Snyder has told Gruden to give Griffin a chance. Perhaps Gruden just doesn’t think McCoy and Cousins are legitimate NFL starters. But at some point, on-field results have to matter. And Griffin simply isn’t getting results. |
