Re: the all encompassing 'discuss all things offseason' thread sponsored by Paintrain
The NFL has shown they are not afraid to change things up or worried about tradition, examples like eliminating extra points, wanting 18 game schedule, thursday night games etc.
I think the NFL would make 90% or more of worldwide fans{especially USA}if they would move the Superbowl to Sat @5;30 instead of Sunday.Theres 2 weeks to prepare for the SB,so moving it up a day shouldnt have an effect on teams preparation. My guess is it they feel it would probably impact the host city economically so the owners would never approve moving it. |

But I imagine Friday night, and all of Saturday is where the host city makes it's money. Everyone is in, going to pre SB parties, enjoying the city basically spending money while they wait for Sunday's game. Then Sunday everyone moves to the game. If they held the game Saturday, I think a sizeable portion of people would use Sunday as a travel day, meaning there aren't any day after SB events, just grabbing the next flight out of there. |

#Browns promote Ray Farmer to GM. Mike Lombardi and Joe Banner leaving #Browns.[/B] The Browns are a complete train wreck. Jimmy Haslam seems worse than Dan Snyder when he first took over the Skins. What the hell are those clowns doing in Cleveland. |

What a mess up there in Cleveland. Those poor fans have been through so much BS. Farmer is a solid guy who's been around a long time. I remember him in Hard Knocks Kansas City.

I have a feeling that Jimmy Haslam is doing some side PR work with pieces like this. He's basically trying to take the heat off himself and say that Banner/Lombardi were forced on him when buying the Browns. The problem with this shit job is that Lombardi didn't come until a year after he owned the Browns. He also is the one responsible for hiring Chud and allowing him to be fired. Jimmy is trying to deflect blame so he doesn't get branded as the next Dan Snyder/Jerry Jones. |
Browns fans deserve better, idk how they still support that team

I talked today to a couple of friends of mine associated with the Browns (in the past and present) and they were both ecstatic about this move. I mean I was surprised how delighted they were. They said Banner was not a football guy at all, and Lombardi was mediocre. They both said this is the best thing that's happened to the team in years |

I'm not saying they are bad moves, but firing somebody after one year on the job is moronic. Why even hire them to begin with if you are doubting their ability to begin with. Hell, any GM that gets a 1st rounder for Trent Richardson is doing alright in my book....lololol |
