Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Rivera or any coaches cannot force Haskins to study better. If Haskins is not willing to put in the efforts even to this day then there is no point for us to keep him.

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Sounds like he's just lazy
|
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Plenty of kids his age don't know how to work hard, he's probably never had to. It's all just come naturally. But in the NFL if you don't grow up quick his career is going to be over before it can even get started.
|
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Laziness is the easiest way to wash out of the NFL. If you're not as talented but work your ass off, you have a better chance to have a career over the long run.
Haskins can either pout his way out of the NFL or get to work. If he puts in the work he will get another chance to start here or somewhere else. What is telling to me, is that I haven't heard any of his teammates dispelling the rumors. He must just be a lazy ass right now. |

I actually picked us to win,haaaaaaaaaaaa..silly me,it won't happen again this season!!

Money on Montez being the backup next week, NOT Haskins? :D

You weren't alone. It's a game they should have won. |

I don't see that. It's gotta be Haskins backing up A Smith. I suppose it's possible Montez is brought up though...but my guess is he'd be inactive as Haskins has been. |
40% on 3rd down (6/15) - below average for the NFL.
But probably not below average for the Giants who seem to never convert a third down unless they are playing us.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Their average this year is 41.4%. So looks like they held them to below their average as well.

Had no idea. Was being sarcastic but actually wouldn’t have been surprised if their season average was like 30 percent. Anyway our defense should have played better against that putrid offense,.... |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
No doubt, but the turnovers is the story, which led to the defense being on the field almost two times as much as the offense. I think it is pretty admirable to have only allowed 23 points after five turnovers.
|
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
No question 5 turnovers cost us the game. The offense has been hanging the defense out to dry for most of the season.

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
I'm actually pretty optimistic and looking forward to how this team could progress with A Smith at the helm for the remainder of the season.
I would like to see more balance with regard to run/pass, but the short passing game, screens, etc are really just an extension of the running game. If they put up 400+ yards a game (and win), I won't really care if it's 80/20 pass to run. |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Pretty much sums it up. Above all else we gotta get one.
A top five pick in the next draft assures that a franchise QB candidate will be available. Whether we would actually pick the right one is another question... |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Giants have the 31st ranked offense ... were 30th.
I’m so far pleased with this season. Certain players have met expectations or exceeded, we’re made some decision on players and are moving on from them (Moreau, apke), and despite being 2-6 and in good draft position ... this team is showing growth. Haskins not rising up is disappointing but I didn’t think he would to begin with and glad we didn’t linger with it. Give me a top 5 pick and a chance at a franchise qb, a high second, 2 3rds and tons of cap money when other teams will cut good players because of the shrinking cap I’m happy |

If Haskins is next, he won't be the first or the last. He's at a fork in the road right now, and the path he takes will determine if he ever has a future as a starter in this league (for the record I think Ron has seen enough to move on after the season). |

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
"That’s the question we have to answer as coaches - is our franchise quarterback here? Is he on the roster? Is he being developed, or is he somewhere else? Again, we’ll continue to go through that and look at it and evaluate it and see exactly where we are," Rivera said.

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
At this point, why are you watching Redskins Football going forward? I can’t find a reason.
Same fucking team: bad coaching, sloppy team looks unprepared to play after a bye, bad QB play, poor communication from organization, nonsensical decisions within the team, leaking to media, etc. Team is a complete waste of my time |

I am...I thought we would see change. Lotta of the same imo. It’s been exhausting My reason is the Alex Smith choice, Haskins should be playing. I have no interest watching this organization-forced story line. It’s not about winning folks |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
If it weren't about winning, Haskins would be the starter.
|
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
If Haskins isn't working hard enough behind the scenes I'm totally ok with him not playing. That would send a horrible message to the team to stick him in there when he clearly doesn't deserve to be playing.

+1 I haven't seen anything this season that makes me feel like we're any worse off than any previous year. Still gonna watch every week, just gonna savor the satisfying days a little more than I'd like. |

No lingering anger. Team has me semi accepting losing. Enjoy the wins and immediately move on from the losses. Beat the Cowboys on Thanksgiving, and I'll consider it a good season. High draft pick, 2-0 against Dallas, including on Thanksgiving. Not too shabby lol. |
Re: Giants post season ending loss thread
Worst part of this disaster of a season is that the NFC East will come down to us at Philly in the final week. So this team will have you drinking koolaid even while they are terrible all the way until the final week. Winner will get in with 6 wins. Book it.

Agreed, despite the 2 terrible TOs late, Alex was slinging it. There have been some awfully mixed and contradictory messages sent by RR, some very questionnable in-game decisions, but watching the last couple of games I don't see them not trying to win. Which is why I hate the first half of this game, I expected them to come out of the bye week swinging and they shot themselves in the foot several times. The announcer saying you wouldn't guess which team had a short week and which team had a bye pretty much sums it up IMO. |

That was a great play to Gibson to start the first drive - until he coughed it up. I can't help but wonder how different the game would have been if that didn't happen...or if someone, anyone, would have just batted that damn ball out of bounds! I remained optimistic that they would pull it out, despite the sluggish start and the injury to Kyle, but the late turnovers were brutal. |
