Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
Holcomb balled out. Gibson and mclaurin balled out. Im not gonna get upset about draft position because we have so many holes and a 1st round talent at any of those positions will be great. I still want us to win. I cant condition that out of my system. We played the best 60 minutes we have in a while.
I hate the Bostic hit. Anyone who does that should be suspended, imo. It was a good game. I wasnt expecting that, honeslty...but i love seeing us win. Allen looks like he can be a competent qb if he can cut the turnovers out. He made some really great throws in traffic. Took sacks where he needed to, and wasn't the cause of turnovers. I knownhes not a world beater....but with more play time in a system he knows, he could hold us over if we don't get "that" guy in the draft. Theres a lot to like about this game today. I like winning, damn the draft....esp in a Dallas week. |
For what? To come in and start on two weeks notice? DeShazor Everett has played solid in Collins' absence, it would be an insult to every depth player on this roster if Rivera did that. They might bring a guy up from the practice squad or sign Reid to be a backup but no way they bring in a guy off the street as a starter (which Reid probably wants to be).
DeShazor has been playing alongside Collins, taking over Apke’s spot. With Collins out it’s either Curl or Apke playing back there. I wouldn’t mind bringing in Reid but based off our lack of FA moves this year I doubt they do so. |

This draft nonsense - the two best young qb's in the NFL today (Mahomes and Russell Wilson) were drafted with the 10th overall pick and in the 3rd round. With 2 wins we're already out of the TL sweepstakes anyways and he might stay in school if the Jets get the first overall pick. If Kyle Allen isn't the guy (and we know he might not be, and we know we won't have an opportunity to take the guy we want in the draft) go get another stopgap qb in FA to hold down the fort until we get a long term solution. Can't holdup 52 guys for 1 guy like Ron said. On the Bostic hit, that was hella dirty and he deserves everything he gets. But I have yet to see a pattern with Bostic the way everyone saw it with Vontaze Burfict so I don't think he needs to be cut. Just accept the suspension and be better next time. Because if there is a next time, he no longer gets the benefit of the doubt. |

Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
I agree...havent seen a history of ill plays like that. Maybe it was a 1 off. I dont think we should cut him or anything.....but that play was dirty and may well have resulted in a concusion. Nooo bueno. Also, things in gsme im sure get heated and people do things occasionally that are in the moment. Like....i think wr/secondary play should be let go more, but hitting sliding qbs needs to be punished.
Aside from that, I can see allen as a alex smith 2.0. Maybe better. I like the kid. Like I said.....not a world beater....but if he can stop turning the ball over I think he's more than competent in this system. Today was a good day. |

If you didn't enjoy Holcomb putting Zeke on his ass en route to Dalton, gtfo out of this thread.

Against a terrible team with a terrible defense he played well. But we need to address the position in a big way. As for not top ten draft picks that pan out well id say that the numbers show it is usually a top 5 guy. If we can get one later that is what makes teams real winners. With our history of drafting quarterbacks im not gonna hold my breath. It would be absolutely awesome to hit on a quarterback outside the first round and address the o line in the first though. |

He was a (fact check please) 4th or 5th. I agree the position def needs to be addressed. But Allen isn't the worst case scenario. Like.....i think haskins is the worst case scenario. I just hope that the current regime can make non Snyder draft decisions and pick with heads not hearts. |

Also...cousins wssnt a world beater either....jsut the best thing we've had for a while.

We on the same wave here. Anderson is just the odd man out on a crowded depth chart. As many holes as we have, it makes sense to move him if we get a decent offer. Kerrigan has given us everything and I love what he brings to the team in his current role, and he deserves to retire here for his play and his leadership. But if we get a good offer, with as many holes as we have, all bets are off. |

Moving them would be for picks. We would be the sellers because we are not a few moves away from serious contention. If we were we would be trading draft picks for pieces. |

This. I don't want to see Kerrigan go, but imagine we got 3 or 4 decent picks for them both. Could be 1 draft from competitive instead of 2. |

Picks make sense. Wasn't even thinking of that. I just dont see (on a personal level) picks that would make me ok with it. The selfish part of my Fandom still don't want to see rk go, esp for like a 5th. If he does go, I will get his jersey and wear it proudly, pretty immediately. |
Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
Mike McCarthy was the dumbest fucking hire possible.
Jerry and Danny Boy are in a permanent race to the bottom of the ownership barrel. |

Yeah well its one of the Patriots trademarks. They know when a guy is nearing the end and trade him for picks. If RK played there he would have been dealt as soon as Chase was drafted. Maybe before that. Im a Washington fan first ... If we can improve our future by trading Kerrigan Im all for it, and honestly if you love Kerrigan that much than be happy he would go get a chance to win a ring. He deserves it. He would only be dealt to a contender, and you do not have to worry about it being the Cowboys Eagles or Giants so.... |

Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
Didn't expect that type of game, even with Dallas injuries and players being quoted saying coaches were "not good at their jobs"...
Wow! Just enjoy the W ! My 2 favorite moments of the game: -The stop after the long kick off return, up 9-0. Early in the game your fan's mind knows this could be the beginning of a typical Redskins loss... D shows up and holds them to their only 3 points of the game. -The 2 sacks stop after Bostic's stupid hit. Dallas wasn't coming back at this point but they could have taken that complete win feeling away from us. D stepped up and didn't allow that. 2 key moments symbolical of finally playing a complete game ! Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |
Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
Seeing the outcome of the game and what Jon Bostic did to Andy Dalton, I am reminded of the line from Messala in the old Ben Hur movie...

Nice to get another win in the division. They took care of business, and won a game against an inferior opponent. That's all you can ask for.
That feels good going into the bye week. |
Re: Dallass Postgame Version 1
Sucks for Collins. Obviously not one of my favorite players, but I wouldn't wish a torn achilles on my worst enemy. Thoughts out to him. Get well!!

Agreed, but now we get chance to see what Curl can really do. If he can step up and own the position, then it gives us options. Albeit expensive ones. |

Big enough reason for me. I'd rather not have social justice warriors distracting the team from football. We're trying to clean up the culture on this team, not stay in national headlines for the WRONG reasons. |
