I’ll watch if Kyle starts, I’m not watching anytime Alex Smith takes the field. It’s theatrical bullshit and has nothing to do with winning football games if he plays. It’s more Dan Snyder drama, folks need to call it out. Alex needs to be cut this offseason immediately
Why? He earned the right to be on the field and was better than Haskins. Im sure he would continue to improve. He is no more danger to break anything than anyone else right now. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
Smith showed he shouldn’t be on the field or on the team.
Really? Lol. Allen looked pretty similar until he got hurt and they both looked better than Haskins. We have three backup quarterbacks but Smith would probably be quite capable after more game reps. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
Allen looked way better than Smith.
If it's a nice day I may go golfing. I just can't watch the Redskins or WTF or whatever the hell you call them. They're not worth my time anymore. Ron sucks, the offense is unwatchable, the defense can't tackle, can't rush and can't cover. The best player is the punter. This team is almost dead to me. I miss that run the Nats were on last year.
Yeah i used to count down all summer until week one, and basically plan my Sunday around the games. I honestly would have no idea who they are even playing or when anymore if not for this site. Maybe one day they will field a competitive team and earn back my interest but Im not holding my breath. I think i am going to hit the links myself! |

Absolutely. This week WFT will show the world just how far they are willing to go to get Trevor Lawrence. I think something fun like when the Dolphins went for two instead of kicking the extra point. I am going to say punting the ball instead of kneeling to run out the clock. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
Charles and Scherff coming to the offensive line's rescue this week. Both practicing and should play.

Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
Allen looked way better than Smith.
Your statement will be reversed by season's end. Allen was an INT machine last season. Smith is a Pro-Bowler. Even with his new leg, he'll be worlds better after he settles back in. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
Smith wasn't very good in 2018 before the injury. Another new offense, 2 years older, bum leg, odds are stacked against him being productive again IMO.
|
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
And Kyle Allen wasn't very good in 2019. Alex doesn't have much competition to take his job back.
We were 6-3 with JAY GRUDEN coaching under Alex Smith. |

Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
I know that was a tough situation on Sunday but man, he was awful. 9 of 17 for 37 yards? If his comeback wasn't so amazing everyone would be killing him over how putrid he was.

Yeah man, 9 completions for 37 fucking yards.... That's as bad as it gets. I like him a lot, he's clearly a man of steel but he's done and needs to just sit this one out now. |

Scherff back at RG, slide Schweitzer to LG ? Don't know if Charles is NFL ready after basically no TC for him. |
Scherff back at RG, slide Schweitzer to RG ?
Don't know if Charles is NFL ready after basically no TC for him.
I assume you mean slide Schweitzer to LG. If so, I agree. Schweitzer has surprised me with his skill and toughness and he has earned a starting job, IMO. Ready or not, I want to see Charles play. Let's see what he can do. What I saw of his play in college excited me. He is athletic and physical and I just think he and Schweitzer playing together might give the left side the energy it needs. An OL of Charles, Schweitzer, Roullier, Sherff, and Moses just might get our running game going which would be a huge benefit to our offense and our team. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
If I'm Ron, I'm shopping RK before the deadline. There was some chatter from JP Finlay that a couple teams were interested. Haskins seems checked out so I'd trade him for a 5th or 6th and move on with it.

Schweitzer really is the completely unexpected nice surprise this year ! Well I sure hope you're right about Charles, but his hand technique looked ishy to me... heck you know what, it's not like we're competing for anything, I say let him have the reps ^^ |

I’m shopping RK, Ryan Anderson, Brandon Schreff, Haskins And Alex Smith. I’m having a fire sale and getting rid of folks with high contract or contract up end of year |

https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/football-team/terry-mclaurin-dwayne-haskins-benching-you-cant-feel-sorry-yourself
On Thursday, McLaurin spoke with local media for the first time since Haskins' benching. The second-year wide receiver said he plans to do whatever he can to help Haskins, but stressed the quarterback "can't feel sorry" for himself moving forward. "I think it's easy when you get knocked down in life to sulk or feel bad for ourselves," McLaurin said. "Oftentimes, the only way you get through something is you attack it head-on. You've got to be honest with yourself. You have to ask yourself what you can do better and attack it from there." McLaurin stressed that the NFL is a 'What have you done for me lately?' league and that there are no handouts at the highest level of the sport. Just because Haskins was a first-round pick and a highly-touted prospect means very little anymore. |

Looking at the schedule, if we lose to NY Sunday, I'd say 3-13 is almost a lock.

Can you imagine what that kid would be doing w/ Green Bay or KC? But you can just tell how much of a pro he is, how mature he is. Then you have DH who just acts like a fucking baby w/ his week old stomach ache and his social media bullcrap. If his stomach is in that bad of shape then go to the hospital. |

And when he leaves, then we can trash him like other talented guys who have left here ala Cousins, Trent, and even Dunbar. I like Jon Allen, gotta feeling he will not want to put up with this bullshit much longer. He’s a quality, talented player |

Kerrigan has been typical Kerrigan. He will dominate a scrub then ghost for the next several weeks.

People might say...oh no things have changed.
Have you seen how the Haskins thing has been handled so far in 10 days? Nothing fucking changed one bit. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
This franchise is starting over, it will take some time.
It starts with: Team Name and Logo - They need to come up with a nickname, the WFT stuff is ok for now but it's corny, we need a name and logo to brand the franchise and fanbase. FRANCHISE QB - This whole fanbase should be rooting for 1-15, Trevor Lawrence is regarded by every national scout as the best QB prospect to come out since Luck, you literally need this kid to be the face of the franchise. If you can't get him, Justin Fields is a great option as well. Free Agency - This year will be huge , adding quality starters to the OL and WR/TE is priority 1, you will have to surround your QB with weapons and protection. 2020 is a wash, this team is bad and lacks the talent to compete in most games.. In fact we really should be 0-5 if it wasn't for a fluke comeback week 1.. I'm already looking forward to 2021, Haskins was a miss but it's nit like he was ever regarded as a franchise QB to begin with. Build the defense around CY and grab Lawrence / Fields and lets start winning some damn games. |
Re: Giants Pre Game dumpster fire thread
John Keim retweet:
News: Saahdiq Charles is expected to start at left guard Sunday against the Giants, per two people with knowledge of the situation. Charles would replace Wes Martin and be making his NFL debut. He’s the former LSU LT drafted in the 4th round. Experts think he has a high ceiling. Whewwwwwwwwww!!! Get on the field young man |
