Is calling someone a dog-faced liar acting presidential?

Or does that only apply to who wins and becomes president? Or only to Republicans?

You've clarified more than once about these questions, so these are more rhetorical.

I suppose it's not, but we don't really need to try and compare Biden to Trump on the scale of "speaking before thinking" do we?

Just want that same "act presidential" to apply to Biden too. That candle should burn on both ends.

I'm not gonna pretend like Biden doesn't talk out of his ass sometimes, or that he's even my preferred choice of candidate, but if there's one thing he's better than Trump at it's acting presidential. Not exactly a true barometer considering POTUS gets way more attention than VPOTUS, but how many times did we hear about Biden's conduct being beneath the office he held for 8 years?

Personally I am a Conservative Leaning Independent, and while I don't really like Joe Biden...I am done with Trump.

Until this COVID-19 Crisis, I wasn't going to vote for either Joe Biden nor Donald Trump...but the comments from Trump and the way he has mishandled the COVID-19 Crisis...I am done with Trump and want him out...so I think [emoji848] come November...I am going to hold my nose [emoji103] and vote for Joe Biden.

Hillary was an ass but she knew the job and would have been good at it. You don't have to like her .The republicans sold their sole's to the devil when they partnered with trump and by the end of his four years he will have fucked up the country and divided the republican party by even more, the reason Biden will win is becuase he isn't trump, any republican would do better against Biden than trump is doing .So any bitching you have about him goes to the wayside becuase your hate for anyone else the last election did you in,you got exactly what it is you voted for.

Word for word I could say the same about Trump. Is this really the hill you want to die on?

What if... they had some sort of 1 on 1 discussion where they went head to head? And they put on television for the entire world to see?

We have an age minimum to be President. There should be an age maximum too. Trump gonna just keep spouting off shit that doesn't need to be said and Biden is going to keep getting more out there.

My folks are the same age bracket as Biden and trump. Super healthy no mental issue taking my parents. Stil they are not as quick as they use to be, I find my self explaining more to them and being patient with them.

Scary these guys at the same age are running the country.

The scary thing to me is that more and more liberals don't like Biden or his equivalent type in the democratic party because they aren't far left, progressive, socialist, etc. enough. This country is at a major crossroads that extends well beyond just who wins in November in the road this country is going down. Scary.

Coronavirus stimulus: Extending extra unemployment benefits through executive order 'would really be a nightmare'

President Trump signed several executive orders to address various issues related to the coronavirus pandemic after negotiations with Congressional Democrats over a new stimulus bill fell apart.

The immediate implications of the executive orders are unclear, and the unilateral route may be particularly messy when it comes to extending extra unemployment insurance (UI) benefits that expired after July.

“An executive order [on extra unemployment benefits] would really be a nightmare,” Michele Evermore, senior policy analyst at the National Employment Law Project, told Yahoo Money. “It would just end up resulting in people thinking they're getting a benefit but states being unable to figure out how to do it in many cases.”

“States would have to set up a whole different system to pay out that piece of benefits,” Evermore explained. “I've heard from state agencies that getting the money this way would be difficult, if not impossible, to administer.”

President Trump told reporters on Friday that he would extend the benefits through the end of the year through executive action but didn’t specify whether he would extend the now-expired $600 provided by the CARES Act or cut the extra benefits (as Republicans previously proposed).

On Saturday, Trump claimed that one of his executive orders would implement $400 in extra weekly unemployment benefits until the end of the year, though it’s not clear if or when that would happen.

It does. Biden could shoot someone in the middle of 5th avenue and only way my vote would change is if the independent became the front runner.

Sorry not sorry. The public standard to get a criminal conviction for anyone that isn't the president was met a long time ago. He has used his office to shield himself from his criminal behavior. If he wins again the statute of limitations comes into play.

sdskinsfan2001 08-08-2020 06:57 PM

Re: Joe Biden - Will he Really be Dem Candidate?

Executive orders are absolute bullshit to me in 99% of cases. Let's just keep that same passion when Democrats do them. It's like a video game cheat code. Both sides are fucking immature. I think since Bush 2 through now it's got to the point where all Americans should be absolutely fucking embarrassed.

Beer for me nowadays, too many times I made an ass out of myself getting sloppy drunk as a teenager and in my 20's, now I just get a sixer of Heineken and settle into a nice buzz so I don't have to wait all night to be sober enough to drive home.

I just don't understand why both sides are unwilling to make enough concessions to hammer out a deal. They both look incompetent in times like these when American lives are at stake.

Just beer works for me. Didn't know your preference.

In terms of what I put in bold, its only getting worse, with no end in sight. And Trump clearly isn't helping, but this started before him.

Specifically to 2020, he is definitely part of the problem, but Congress is at least as bad to me. A bunch of assholes.

We need term limits. I'd agree to damn near anything someone on the left offered if that could become a thing.

DC isn't about doing what's best for all of us, it's about doing what's best for them to get re-elected.

This.

+1 on term limits too. I also think they need to put strict rules on taking any job in any industry you passed legislation on post-Congress career and they need to ban owning stocks. Seems like there's a lot of areas nowadays where they used to go by the honor code on and since nobody follows the honor code anymore the legislation isn't there to keep people from using their position in Congress to enrich themselves.

There isn't 1 word or punctuation mark I disagree with here. This is a huge problem. Vote for things to benefit X company, then outside of office get directly hired by X company or get backwater benefits. Absolutely sickening and disgusting. Get a real fucking job like the people you "represent" have to have to put food on the table.
