The Browns are a bad kicker away from 3-0. Amazing how the Cleveland fans are so loyal. If that team was in California they would not out draw a High School team.

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
We don't have a RB who ranks in the top 32 in rushing through week 2:
https://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/rb There is no chance of any sustained success without some semblance of a running game unless we have a HOF QB. For the life of me, I don't understand why Jay doesn't just copy another team, cheat off their test, however you want to put it. The Shanahan's run the ball no matter where they are or who they have. I understand they build their offense differently than Jay with the zone running game and faster Lineman (at least in theory). I have always been a fan of continuity because I believe it has value, especially if the team culture is good. I don't know if it's good after the Colt's crap show, but I think it is much improved from several years ago. But culture only matters if it translates to wins. His failure to adapt, and his willingness to open every drive with a 2nd and 9 is simply unacceptable. I have had it with him. We kept the wrong coach. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 3
I doubt that Jay Gruden can keep his job without making the playoffs this season - and that's not likely to happen IMHO. One look at our schedule prior to the start of the season led me to believe that we must start off 2-0 to have any shot at the playoffs. Now, if we beat GB I might start to think " Well,OK we had one bad game but we can recover from that." On the other hand, if we play with as little heart and the same shitty coaching we witnessed last week, then I'll be thinking we'll be lucky to have a winning record.
Please don't anyone tell me how bad other teams in our division might be. We have already proven in the Colts game that we can lay a hot stinkin' plopper on the field that is nasty enough to lose to anybody. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 3
Yeah as the Baker Mayfield era now has begun. But coach Hue Jackson has to make it official.

I wonder if Gregg Williams came aboard as HC but only ran the defense and we hired a talented OC who understood the benefits of having a good offensive line, blockers and a good running game. |

The Brown's have a historic presence in the NFL . |

He isn't coming back with Snyder as owner. |

Can we draft Tua from Alabama in the 2020 draft?
Can we draft Tua from Alabama in the 2020 draft?
As exciting as a player Tua is, he would be a disappointment here i think unless things REALLY change with our coaching / team. But we have two years to do so. I think another question to ask would be, is Jay and his staff still here by 2020, and that I think is also a question mark unless this season is a success. |

The Rams have a historic presence in the NFL also, yet when they were in Los Angeles the first time and then moved to Anaheim California whenever they weren't winning they played in stadiums that were 1/4 full or less. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 3
All of the pregame shows are the “Patrick Mahomes” show. Wow everyone is talking about how he and the Chiefs are set with talented young players. Good combination.

One thing I have a problem with Patrick Mahomes is his voice doesn’t match his face/body...it’s starting to freak me out. He has a WWE sounding voice...like he should cutting a promo or in the ring with the mic. |

Yeah man, this is a brutal sport we love. Obviously sucks for him the most, but depressing for fans of NFL. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 3
Just goes to show you can’t completely protect QBs, injuries happen. These roughing calls are really getting stupid.

Yup. Kyle S. and the 49ers got screwed for the year on that one. Beathard might win a few but I don't see them balling out like the 2nd half of last year. |

I thought we got a dumbass lucky call, the Seahawks/Cowboys refs, made even more a mockery. It's too late for me, I'm addicted to football. And I get the safety precautions, but if I'm a younger fan, football is becoming less attractive by the play. Safety is important, so is common sense. |

They just might as well put flags on the QB's and end the confusion.

Jon Gruden 0-3. He is the most overrated, overpaid coach ever.

LOL. It's glorious watching Dallas flounder around on the field.

Yeah man, Refs embarrassed themselves, this time it worked in our favor, next game it might screw us. |

Kinda forgot about that one. But yeah you're right, based on the rules now could've been called, even tho that would've been bad too imho. At this point if you rush the passer rusher, I wouldn't know what to do. |

Can't remember who it was but when Dak was a rookie they were on this board saying "I'd take him over Kirk" After I said Dak was just a one hit wonder... I don't think that is even a debate anymore |

Basically the defense is always at a terrible disadvantage. It's not good football. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 3
Just saw the replay of the Ionodis sack. Wow. Just wow. He’s playing at a pro bowl level. On pace for 16 sacks. He manhandled Bulaga. Good coverage helped him have the time but man.
Was the stadium more filled? Couldn’t see the game and hard to tell on highlight reels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
