Re: Skins/Panthers post game
I would still say we need to see more from RG3. Granted he's a rookie but he didn't play well today. He threw late, behind and high today. Meanwhile Luck is throwing for 400+ yards to wr's that I've never heard of against a good defesne. I'd like to see Kyle tone down the option stuff and really open things up.
Yep,Lucks stock has risen tremendously and RG3's is on a downward spiral right now |
Luck will win ROY most likely because they will win 8 games or maybe 9

Re: Skins/Panthers post game
I dont really think kick returner is a need. Its not like we have the choice to return many of them
Love to see a miracle comeback, like "Five in a row or we don't go" twice under Gibbs 2.0. But the rest of our schedule looks pretty brutal. Not even the Eagles and Browns are gimmes for us, considering we lost to a 1-6 team today.
edit: Thanks for the insight you guys provide, and opportunity to vent here. 'Nite everybody.
This team doesnt have the D for that kind of run. Nor the class and discipline. |

Re: Skins/Panthers post game
Thing is RG3 is most effective with the option/play action stuff. As a pure drop back passer he still has work to do.
Defenses have made adjustments to it. I'm not saying get rid of it but we can't run QB sweeps down on the goaline. This isn't Baylor vs. SMU. We have to be able to do a 5-7 stop drop and be able to hit wr's. We didn't give up 2 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder to run option plays. |

You may be right. I didn't see Indy make a Morgan type move. lol. |

Neither are elite players and that's what this team lacks. Elite talent. |
Re: Skins/Panthers post game
Oh, and I haven't seem the game yet. I just assume it went down like every other November game since Shanahan became the coach.
I'll watch it off DVR. Sometime. |

Hey! Don't say that dammit we have Josh Wilson and he's by far better than hall remember??? ......... |
Neither are elite players and that's what this team lacks. Elite talent.
True no one that plays on defense is an elite player. We have two OLB's that people like to call elite that have one rush move. |

The thing with Wilson is he's in position to make the play. But someone needs to tell him to just turn his head around! Face guarding the wr is either going to get a PI or the wr will just catch the ball. Is Haslett or Raheem are saying this to him??? |
Re: Skins/Panthers post game
It's not about elite, it's about production. Rak and Kerrigan are far more effective when they're on the field together.

Not a good sign if one goes down then the other cant apply pressure. They front seven is just as bad as the secondary IMO. |

I agree but the drop off should not be this bad. We miss Rak but he's not an elite pass rusher. He's not Jared Allen or Demarcus Ware. I'd like to see Chris Wilson get in the mix. Jackson isn't the answer on passing downs. |

It would be nice some day to walk into my office on a Monday morning and trash talk about the Skins. I instead I am the laughing stock of an NFL conversation.

That's The life of a skins fan bro. |
One thing, we actually had the ball 11 minutes longer for time of possession. The question on offense is why we continually shoot ourselves in the foot especially in the opponents territory?

Unfortunately, odds are (at this pace), RG3 will suffer a serious injury before we finish building around him. Gotta get all the pieces real soon for this thing to work. |

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure." - Colin L. Powell NC_Skins @NC_Skins23 @AdamCarriker94 Well, the Skins should be learning a lot because they are failing big time. :laughing- I crack myself up. AC should know not to post some shit like that after a horrible loss like we saw today. |
Re: Skins/Panthers post game
Unfortunately there are problems for the top down.
This team is a clumsy team without any mean guys or "swagger". They are playing like the NFC/AFC probowl rosters, Just a bunch of guys getting some plays together. There isn't much urgency or aggression with these guys. They are consistently getting bullied and have no way imposing their will. The only way I know how to solve this is draft a bunch of guys from The U or change coaches. The biggest issue we have is that we appear to be running game plans that our players can't execute. The players are too busy thinking instead of reacting. Offensively, there are too many packages. Too many players running specialty plays. They need to play their 3 best WRs available and that's it. Timing is everything and I think it would help RG3 if he could get in sync with 2 or 3 WRs. The lack of timing is why we don't connect on deep balls, slants or out patterns. Let RG3 get in rhythm with his guys and the long ball will come. Defensively, well it's just a mess. one giant zone coverage mess. Kerrigan needs to go after the QB damn near every play not drop in coverage. Simplify the defense so that the players only have to worry about chasing the QB/ballcarrier or covering the guy in front of them. |

I'm just so deflated about football right now. I just want the season over at this point, and no way am I looking forward to the Philly game after the break. We know what happened last time.

Re: Skins/Panthers post game
In life, in sports, in business...the stats, the numbers don't lie. Regardless of how we feel about Shanahan, about replacing him, about 'starting over, this and that...lets not judge on opinion, lets judge based on fact...does Mike's record indicate success, mediocrity or failure? Based on the RECORD; that's how he should be judged...period.
