Trap game for RG3 in that he might want to try too hard, do too much. He has the weight of the franchise on his shoulders and knows, like the rest of us, this is a must win game.
what happens if we don't win this must win game? griff has not tried to do too much at any point this season, i don't see him starting any time soon. i can't even envision him trying too hard, it's like envisioning him breathing too much air. |
i've seen him try to do too much ... resulting in a few sacks, one INT and a concussion.......
i chalk that up as not being perfect.
if that's trying too hard, add the 76 yd game-clinching td run vs the vikings, the late go-ahead td pass to moss vs the giants, etc. |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
well trying to hard, or forcing something, yes almost every player will do it week in and week out at least once but, i was just saying there have been instinces and yes, no one is perfect

Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
Happy to hear that Robinson will be used more on Sunday, per MS. Been wondering when he'd get back in the flow of the offense

He's good |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
We go into the bye week on a high note.. The offense is going to put up yards and points after a couple of shaky weeks with turnovers and sloppy play.. LaFell should be out for Carolina and they haven't gotten their running game going so they are pretty one dimensional.
31-10 Redskins in a runaway.. |

When is the last time we won a "must win" game????????????

Yes! He's got speed..hands..and he's hungry to prove himself. Hope he's targeted often and makes some big plays. |

Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
usually just a fine... if green bay can use expletives against the replacements and what not .... but then again, the nfl mad at skins? lol ... i think so. would be a joke IMO but wouldn't surprise at all

Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
Redskins 38

Players and coaches curse at refs all of the time...maybe not as dramatically as Hall did, but it's a routine punishment. Huge fine and a warning. I think Hall was fairly restrained given how pissed off he was. :twocents: |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
instigating ass refs...
|
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
Really just want to see the Skins play solid, that would be refreshing.
Skins 31 Panthers 28 I expect this to be a Tampa kind of game, where we get up early 21 or 24 to 10, and then our offense stalls and our defense lets them back in the game. Pretty much the script for this year, until they prove otherwise. |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
There's a stat out there that teams going into a bye playing against teams that aren't have covered like 10% or 15% of the time. SO if you're a betting man take Carolina plus the 3 and a hook.
I just remember last years game where they just abused our HEALTHY defense. We also don't really have a home field advantage. Should be a 3 point game either way. |

Punishment is coming today possibly so wondering if we might be short a CB?
Now that Hall told his side I think a fine is all he should get. Goodell needs to worry about how awful those refs called the game last week, not that DHall cursed out a ref. They missed multiple holding calls and a couple of crucial PI's. That crew last week looked like the scab refs IMO. |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
We need to start the game with the run and keep running the ball for 4 qtrs. If we do that its an easy win and we keep their O of the field.
|
This is the perfect game for RG3 to have his career high type game. I'm expecting a huge game from him. Possibly 5 TDs total
|
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
Stick with the running game with Morris for the entire game. Cam makes mistakes so maybe this is the game that Hall gets back on track. I too think RG3 has a big numbers day and we roll.

the drop a few weeks ago put him in the dog house i think . . . BUT we really need his speed and i thought he was looking better than expected after the preseason and the first week of the season . . . |
Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
The Redskins got this. They just need to focus on the task at hand. I don't see them not having a strong showing after last week's meltdown against the Steelers.

Re: Redskins Vs Panthers - Lets break it down
DeAngelo Hall needs to do a better job of maintaining his composure. But in the heat of battle a player loses his head. The trouble is, you can receive a warning for that kind of behavior. Next time he does it it will indeed result in a two or 3 game suspension. Getting fined is a slap on the wrist.

Unfortunately our team hasn't done a good job at keeping their composure (Kyle, Morgan). That being said, I am surprised there was no suspension. Makes me wonder if what Hall said was somehow true. The only reason I say that is because I wonder if that was the same ref that was being a prick to Mike Shanahan. I don't know if people saw that, but at one point when Mike was complaining about a call during the game, one of the refs was just straight out yelling at Mike, it almost seemed like he was telling Shanny to get the F off the field. |

If its the play im thinking of, he was telling him to get off the field, or rather to get back into the coaching box. Shanny went down to the 10 or 15 yard line to yell at him. Shanny is lucky he didnt get a penalty on that. |

Must win is a cliched term but it's truly the case here.
Cliched as it is, it is. The worst part is this is a game the Skins are expected to win. So short of a blow out win the teams not going to get a lot of credit beating a team with one win. And if they lose then Skins fans are really going to kirk out. |

The refs sometimes can act just like the police- they abuse whatever authority they have and say the wrong things to people on the field. Retired NFL referee Ben Dreith was this way back in the days. Mike Shanahan disputes with the officials every game. But players need to realize that when you go beyond the point of debating with an official about a call, there will must certainly be a 15 yard penalty that may come with an ejection. |
