This isn't republican/democratic, both sides spend on military, in ridiculous amounts, and on projects that bring work into their district. Growing up Sam Nunn (D-Ga) was one of the most powerful proponents of military spending. Ultimately you don't need a 3Billion dollar boat to protect our shores/interests you need a 3Billion dollar boat because you want every body to see the size of your toys.
I was referring to the voters in part, not the legislators. Quite frankly, they are ignoring the people.

By in large, the Dems want to cut more in military spending than the Republicans when it comes to the voters. The legislators are going to favor who ever is lining their pockets regardless of party affiliation.
; Republicans want $74 billion cut, on average, Democrats want a $124.4 billion cut, and independents want a $112.2 billion reduction.
Why is he even still married to Hillary? Hey honey, I'm going to go out and blast your boss on national media for not pandering to my financial donors who've I've more than willingly took cash from over the years. (not even including his blunder in her presidential campaign as noted in article)

This is all I need to know from this article.
Times were good, Clinton got the credit and, today, he still has a lot of friends in business and high finance and these friends help fund his philanthropic endeavors.
It really nullifies everything he has to say.

To think that a man who made his living out of buying companies, stripping them of resources and outsourcing jobs to another country is a "sterling" business guy? Sure, in a country who's economy isn't desperate for jobs and income flowing into its economy. In the real world (ours), such a business man is the opposite of what we need. We need somebody who's going to hold big businesses accountable in taxes and ethics, while creating such jobs in our market and raising the quality of living for people in general, not just the wealthy.

You left out what he was really saying about those computers.

It was a technology, he said, that had been fostered by competition—competition he said the federal government lacks in delivering its services to Americans. He said the government's lack of competition and bureaucracy was hurting the United States in keeping jobs that are moving to other countries.

Its not the pay they stay for. Its the power and perks that come with the job.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I doubt they all would stay if they were paid at true middle class pay, with effective regulations on the "perks" of the job.

I would guess most take a pay cut when they run for office. Most are worth millions and you don't get that way over night making $174,000 a year. That's really good money but not great.

If that was the case then the elevator was installed prior the new laws requiring them to be wheel chair accessible. When new regulations are passed existings buildings get grandfathered unlass they do a major renovation. Seems like someone wanted a very expensive bill passed and he vetoed the unfair legislation.

Coming from a guy who had a elevator closed off to anybody but his own personal use is quite funny.

Romney remembered as CEO governor - CNN.com
"He had three security people around him, and you could never get to touch him or say hello," said state Rep. Frank Smizik, chairman of the House Committee on Global Warming and Climate Change. "He was very elitist."

On this reporter's unannounced visit to the Legislature, there was no shortage of Democratic lawmakers who complained about Romney's unprecedented move to block off one State House elevator specifically for the governor's office.

"He took over the elevator for the west wing of the building. He kept it only for his staff and him," Smizik said.

Listening in on Smizik's comments, another Democrat, state Rep. Ellen Story, said the elevator restrictions and security ropes installed outside Romney's office turned off some lawmakers for good.

"When Romney came in, he treated government like the only thing he ever knew, which was big business, and he was the CEO of the big business," Story said.
So you went serching for the real story about Romney's elevator story and found nothing but another elevator story told by a bunch of dems. LMAO

This was from your article and it looks good to me:

"He was all business. It was all about policy. He didn't trade jobs for votes. He didn't trade capital projects for votes. So that came back to bite him a little bit," Hedlund said.

Wow, a politician who does not trade away favors/money for votes. That's a new concept.

I marvel over decisions made by MSNBC:
Last August, Ed Schultz of MSNBC played an edited clip in which then-presidential candidate Rick Perry described the national debt as a “big black cloud that hangs over America” to make it sound like a racial dig at President Obama. Schultz later apologized.

And in March, NBC was caught editing the audio of George Zimmerman's 911 call as he watched Trayvon Martin in the minutes before he fatally shot the Florida teen. On a tape edited and played on the “Today” show, Zimmerman was heard calling Martin “suspicious” and volunteering that he was “black.” But the full, unedited tape showed that Zimmerman only mentioned Martin’s race when asked by the dispatcher. The result made it sound like Zimmerman was racially profiling Martin. The network fired three people after getting widespread criticism.
Interestingly i never knew the full story behind George H.:
But Mitchell invoked an old perceived campaign stumble by George Bush, who supposedly marveled at a supermarket scanner at a grocers' convention during his failed 1992 re-election bid. Even though Bush was actually impressed not by an ordinary scanner, but by a then state-of-the-art device that could weigh food and read damaged bar codes, the anecdote was reported by The New York Times and offered as evidence that Bush was out of touch with everyday Americans.
