Please all y'all are blind. B. Hoyer is the TRUTH!
3. Brian Hoyer, New England Patriots "The guy Belichick trusts if Brady got hurt" sounds more comforting than a State Farm commercial. Personnel folks around the league have taken notice. And given that Matt Cassel has proven his skills aren't limited to the New England system, Hoyer's mere existence in that role is currency.
|

Looks like Trents nagging ailments through last year were nothing compared to Okungs continuing ankle problems.

He's the type of player you build a defense (or even a franchise) around in my honest opinion. Dude is a once in a lifetime player and as much as I hate the eagles, you want to see good guys like him do well. |

dudes a sixth round pick in his first preason game, i really hope people didnt expected anything more than what he did. |

Looks like it's going to be the year of the touchback.
Banks is clearly on the bubble with this new rule in effect. |

Mallett is in the best situation he could ever be, if you put aside the whole "not getting paid first round money" thing. But he is on a team that will keep whatever character issues he has in check, and will be given time to develop into a good QB. Sadly, I don't think this would have been possible here or many of the QB-starved teams that could've drafted him last April. |

Banks is clearly on the bubble with this new rule in effect.
Not necessarily, they did have one KO for a TD which went 103 Hess last night. I can't remember which team... The Patriots? I not sure. And yes it could have been against scrubs but its a possibility with the right blocking. Unfortunately we never have the perfect blocking, not sure if it's the scheme or the players not doing their jobs. |

Ok, one out of how many kicks? The new rule definitely de-emphasizes the role of a kick returner. And for a guy like Banks that offers little at any other position, I don't see how you can say he's not on the bubble. Janikowski was booting them out of the endzone, lol |

That's pretty much what I'm sayin. He was playing in his first preseason game, two weeks after starting to practice, he's probably at least a couple years of riding the bench away before he might even be in the discussion as a decent backup qb, I honestly wouldn't know why people would expect more than he did. He looked good on that one play where he escaped the pressure in the red zone, but then he threw the pick to Jarrad Page which made everyone completely forget about how he was able to move around in the pocket out there lol. |

Janikowski was booting them out of the endzone, lol
It all depends on if the team wants to find a way to use him. Last year they used him for screens and towards the end of the season as a WR. I think he proved he fits in for more then one roll. Plus he's available if needed as a scat back. But I do agree with you that he needs to show the coach's his value on this team. I too could see him getting cut because someone else on the team returns punts and kicks just as well with out the speed. I just think it would be stupid to cut him. When playing a team like Philly we could possibly use a speed package with Moss, Austin, Paul or Robertson, and Banks as WR's. As long as the can provide the protection then other teams will have a hard time covering due to all the speed on the field. |

I watched it last night and he started out rather getto then stopped took a deep breath and restarted what he was trying to say. I think it was one of those moments when he was answering the question then realized he was on tv and restarted in order to not sound uneducated. |

Shanahan is smart enough to know to keep a big play maker like banks. We know what banks can do and now we know that he still can do it, so that's why he is no longer on the bubble. No matter what some of the fans (or seemingly in his case, lack there of) -- think of him. |

Matt Stafford looked sharp last night, like he has all camp. Lions are a serious threat if Stafford stays healthy.

I dunno Matty, last year they played tough against a lot of teams and Stafford's health clearly affected them. I'm sure Fairley being injured doesn't help them though. |
Re: NFL Preseason Week 1
Stafford staying healthy is a big question mark though. Until he does it, not buying them. Plus they're in a very tough division.

Re: NFL Preseason Week 1
So the Skins didn't come out and flop playing last yrs AFC SB team. So what can the nay sayers say?..... "it was only a preseason game." lol.
I look at it this way... Neither team game planned. Both teams played vinella plays. It wasn't a game that counted. but having said all that I felt the team looked very sharp with their vinella plays, was very capable of moving the ball even though they didn't game plan, and .... the run game looked to be 100X better with better blocking for the RB. |
