Non-football? I want details!
Apparently their RT Ryan Harris is also not ready from toe surgery, so they may end up playing their second-round pick rookie tackle somewhere to open the season, probably at Clady's LT spot. They drafted him for RT, so it could be a big test for him to play LT. |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
not much out there on Clady's injury, actually already had the surgery:
# Clady to Fox31: On t/ characterization of his injury, R. Clady said to me, "it's not that bad." Gt impression tht meant glad it's not worse 28 minutes ago via TweetDeck * Reply * Retweet # Fox 31 Alert: I just got off the phone with R. Clady. He spoke briefly. Clady says that he's hopeful he will be "ready for training camp." # When I asked Clady which knee it was, he said "left." The call then ended understandably. The Broncos will not confirm Clady's or info 14 minutes ago via TweetDeck * Reply * Retweet # 2 sources told Fox31 they heard Clady had some type of procedure on his knee. When I asked Clady did you have surgery he replied "yeah." |

Clady may be seriously hurt. It's time to wrap up that trade for Jammal Brown ASAP.

Also props to Todd McShay. Guy was pretty spot on about the top 10 in 2010 a year in advance including selecting our very own Trent Willimas to go fourth overall, albeit to the Raiders. Remember this was done in April 2009.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
I guess shanahan doesn't feel like the 8 time pro bowler could improve the strait solid line we have as of now.
Shanny can do no wrong????? Like passing Bruce Campbell up in the 4TH ROUND..........? I'm getting a little tired of the "gotta have faith" BS. Anyone ever thought that he is doing exactly what players usually do when they come to DC? Cashing a HUGE paycheck at their local bank? Sorry, but Donovan mcnabb and Artis Hicks, along with 8 TE's and aging RB's do not get me all excited. |

Well, the aging RBs we've gotten have had either not-so-great 2009 season (LJ) or had injury issues (Parker). However, Mawae had a solid season last year and given the needs of our line, he could be a solid stop gap. I would go out on a limb and say that he is a better lineman than Hicks. This team puzzles me when it comes to the offensive line. Don't get me wrong, it's great that they got T. Williams, and hell you could say Capers is nice future depth. But, I see things like this and wonder if the coaches are putting too much trust in the returning linemen. I guess the only thing I imagine as to why Mawae hasn't been picked up is maybe because he doesn't fit MS' locking scheme? |
Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
my point is if we are going to ignore the age issue with the RB's, why not get a guy who has PROVEN that he plays at a pro bowl level at the age of 37/38? It seems like a no brainer to me.

yeah i hear you but like i said i am giving our front office a little bit more credit than past years, if both shanny's think that what we have is solid, or they just think he wouldn't fit, or if they are in works with him for a deal right now, i'm gonna trust their judgement...for now |

Galloway is a harmless signing. Veteran, locker room leader with experience. Doubt he even makes it past pre-season.

Re: 2010 NFL Off-Season Rumors and Reports (Week 8)
You notice all the ties to Bruce Allen. And very few players with ties to MS. I don't know that it means anything, but seems like Shanny is letting Bruce go get "his" guys, at least to fill camp bodies. Does Galloway bring anything to the table in terms of "guidance" for Kelly and/or Devin?

Exactly! I have no problem with any of this. Competition at EVERY position...excellent idea. Devin and some others are definately going to give what they have. If not..... AND if the Galloways of this season don't make the squad......???? What's the problem? If Galloway does...good guidance for the young guys. |

LOL. I said it once I'll say it again. I totally believe the Skins are manipulating the fan base's feelings so when they do sign T.O. the majority of the fan base will be happy. Rumor was the skins were in talks with T.O. That rumor got shot down. Then McNabb endorsed picking up T.O. That rumor was shot down. Now Joey Galloway is signed. Half the fans would prefer T.O. Pretty soon the rumor will be Skins in talks with T.O. and everyone will be singing a different toon. ;) |

I doubt Allen and Shanahan really give two shits about the fan's opinion regarding any players.

It all depends on if it benifits him. If the jersey will sell and make him money I think he's do it no matter what. No honestly I don't sit here with the mind set that the team is thinking... "hay I wonder if the fans would be on board with this signing." But I do think the fan base had some play in Fassel not getting signed. As much as I didn't like Fassel I can't imagine he wouldn't have been as good or better then Zorn who had no HCing experience. Maybe not since he most likely would not be able to pick up his own coaching staff. I'm mostly joking about the team trying to build support for T.O. It sounds good. :) |
