I thought he was a smart guy. He has to be one of the dumbest athletes ever. Once you're caught the last thing you need to do is call her and tell her to lie for you on a voice mail. Use your brain!!!! He is so done. I actually feel really bad for his wife. She does not deserve this. But how many times have we seen this with men in a powerful position? Letterman, John Edwards, Clinton, Spitzer and now Tiger. Just don't get married. |

More proof that the booty is the ultimate drug that turns men into complete retards.

re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
well he pretty much admitted it now this is a statement from his web site
The complete statement: I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone. Although I am a well-known person and have made my career as a professional athlete, I have been dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means. For the last week, my family and I have been hounded to expose intimate details of our personal lives. The stories in particular that physical violence played any role in the car accident were utterly false and malicious. Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect. But no matter how intense curiosity about public figures can be, there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy. I realize there are some who don't share my view on that. But for me, the virtue of privacy is one that must be protected in matters that are intimate and within one's own family. Personal sins should not require press releases and problems within a family shouldn't have to mean public confessions. Whatever regrets I have about letting my family down have been shared with and felt by us alone. I have given this a lot of reflection and thought and I believe that there is a point at which I must stick to that principle even though it's difficult. I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves. For all of those who have supported me over the years, I offer my profound apology. Virtue of privacy? How is that telling us about virtue, the context here is completely different. And he's totally within his rights to ask for priviacy. I see nothing wrong with his statement. |
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
Of course he wants privacy, who wants their affairs to be made public? LOL
Seriously though nothing wrong at all with asking for privacy, but of course he must understand as a very public figure he's simply not going to get it. |

I would at least yell somthing like Get in the hole! or Not in my backswing! or i guess now i could yell Sinner! If he only played golf then I would have some compassion for him and his family regarding privacy. But as soon he plastered his face on every endorsement thrown his way he became a celebrity, no longer just a athlete. If he doesnt want the spotlight when things are bad then don’t allow the spotlight the rest of the time. Its absurd to me when celebrities complain about the paparazzi or fans always approaching them. If you do no interviews, no endorsements, no commericals, no photo ops, no guest apperencies, no magazines, no nothing you will be able to go to Walmart or cheat on your wife with little or no issues. re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
There's a fine line when it comes to celebrities, especially someone as big a celebrity worldwide as Tiger.
There are areas of their lives that they should reasonably expect some privacy toward. |
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
This whole thing is a just a shame on so many levels.
|
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
What SHOULD be unfortunately has little bearing with........what is. When the dust settles, they are still a family in trouble and I wish them luck.

re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
Just heard Tiger is thinking about changing his name to Cheetah!!!
|
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
You know if he wanted privacy he could've avoided this whole thing by keeping his wang in his pants and not using it as a divining rod to find the scuzziest looking chick in the room to take to bed.
Before this the dude had all the privacy in the world (in terms of being a celebrity. i.e. He didn't have paparazzi following him around) When you have a clean record, nobody really cares too much about what you do with your life. It's when they find out your scum that they probe for all the juicy details. |
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
Turns out Tiger is just another scumbag running around on his wife.
|
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
To think none of this would have happened if he hadn't crashed his car. I suppose though that that cocktail waitress was probably planning to reveal their relationship at some point. She clearly is a publicity hound and jumped on this opportunity for more publicity.
I love my wife and can easily say here I would never cheat on her. I mean I really never would. But I'm also not a rich and famous person. It's easy for me to throw stones at Tiger and others who have performed similar "transgressions" but having been in the company of some of these athletes and seeing how many women repeatedly throw themselves at these guys (and girls) all day long, it's just a different world they live in. |
re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
I wanted to weigh in here to vent a frustration. I absolutely cannot stand how this story gets any sort of attention, let alone some focus on the national news broadcasts.
All over the US there are husbands cheating on wives and wives cheating on husbands. The fact that people spend so much time discussing Tiger's cheating saddens me because those people actually elevate famous people like Woods above the rest of us. All because he's in the public eye. Seriously, who gives a flying eff if he cheated on Elin, or lied about it. He's just another guy cheating on his wife. That isn't news. I don't give a crap about his reputation, I don't give a crap about his image, the only thing I care about when it comes to Tiger Woods is watching him chase history as a golfer. Charles Barkley said it best, "I am not a role model." People need to stop looking up to athletes and celebrities for anything other than the entertainment they provide. Until then, the masses glued to the tube clamoring for every rumor and piece of news will continue to look like trashy housewives who can't miss an episode of their trashy soap opera. I've got better things to do with my life than give a shit if Tiger Woods is cheating on his wife. And the news has more important stories to air. |

^ charles barkley aslo said "i like to gamble and i'm not gonna stop!"
the problem is that so many people do look up to sports figures espscially kids and the news doesnt have dick to cover except the two douchebags that "crashed" the state dinner that story is driving my f-ing nuts |

But with a person of Woods' stature, his personal life, rightfully or wrongfully, is also Tiger Woods. Tiger and his team have put as much effort, time, and money maintaining and selling a manicured image, if you will, as he has put into his golf swing. Everytime someone purchases Nike, Buick, Amex or flies to Augusta because of Tiger Woods, they're buying a piece of Tiger Woods or the idea of Tiger Woods. In many ways he isn't even a person, he's a product. So on one hand, yes, who gives a flying a flip. But on the other hand, he's not just another Joe running around cheating on his wife. The controversy isn't entirely about him screwing around, sure that's part of it. But in some perverted way the public, and mainly the media, are saying, hey, this product has some defects; it's flawed and someone has to account for it. Is that fair, of course not. Is it where we are as a culture and society, absolutely. |

re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
People cheat on their wives/husbands for many reasons. It's not right and I feel horrible for Elin. It's a very embarrassing situation. But we're not inside their marriage. Maybe she wasn't doing things for Tiger that she use to do. Or maybe she isn't a good wife. Or maybe he just couldn't control himself cause he get can any pussy he wants. I'm willing to bet it's the ladder. I just think that if you know you're weak when it comes to women then simply don't get married. Derek Jeter is one of the smartest athletes out there.

re: Tiger Asks for Mulligan; Promises to Keep Driver in Bag
while jon and kate getting a divorce shoudln't get any air time i fell like this story is on a whole other level. this isn't just some random sports figure, this guy is an icon and the biggest name in sports right now hands down. and the reason his name is so big is because of the image he presents himself in, now it appears that this image is false and he has basically lied to the whole world, which upsets and offends a lot of people.

News is no longer the 30 minute evening broadcast with Peter Jennings (RIP). It's 24 hours across thousands of tv channels, radio stations, web sites, magazines, and newspapers. That's one reason why you have more and more stories like this. Besides, not all news needs to be hard hitting, Pulitzer prize winning journalism.
