Every time i read about this horseshit it makes me thankful our guys act like professionals (knock on wood).

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
I would like Cutler but I think it is unlikely at this stage. Honestly, I think this year is Campbells last year to convince us that he is our future before we look elsewhere.

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
Listening to Chris Mortenson today talking about Cutler being po'd about being shopped.
He then said that was the beginning of problems with John Elway, and Dan Reeves. When Reeves tried to trade Elway to the Skin's in '91. I'm like HOLY S... I didn't know that. Ryp was great that year, but ELWAY....with that line...YEEOOOOW |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
J. Campbell and M. Kelly for Cutler ,,, Im sure Cutlers agent would LOVE a chance at Dans checkbook .

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
He's not that good and Jason is better. Cutler gets frustrated easily.

I think Cutler's got a huge upside and will be a star but right now he's just good enough to keep both teams in the game. |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
i got faith in JC

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
Cutler? You guys can't be serious. Why would anyone trade Cutler for Campbell? For 25 TDs and 18 INTs?
|
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
NO!!!
Keep Campbell. See what he can do next year. We still have Colt. If Colt fails then we look.
I always have said that '09 is it for JC unless he can get us into the playoffs. He has been around for awhile guys, he is no longer a rookie. By this time you are either a bona fide Pro Bowl calibre guy or you aren't. JC has the tools, but he has negative tendencies, not unlike Ramsey with holding onto the ball too long, etc. ALso, I am doubting his leadership on the field. He needs to take control of the team as the franchise has made it clear he is the man. Right now, I don't see us making the playoffs until we properly address the offensive line, and even if we do it might take another season or two to get that probelm under control. I just don't see us resigning JC unless he gets us at least close next year to the SB. To me he is talented, but just an average QB in the NFL. Now if Gibbs were still coaching JC would have done better this past season and next season would be more promising. Bottom line is I think we are trying to fit square pegs into round holes with regards to JC/Brennan and the WCO. |

I like JC but Cutler is coming off a Pro Bowl season which he threw for 4,000 yards. Cutler seems like more of a playmaker and has a better release. Right now Cutler looks like the better QB and I'd trade the two straight up. |

Agreed... Cutler has HUGE potential ala Brett Favre, Campbell is a career journeyman with a game comparable to Kerry Collins... The Difference? Campbell needs all the pieces around him just right, and then just go out and not LOSE the game and the Redskins will win. Cutler, who is a gun slinger, Can make plays with his phisical ability, and more importantly HIS INSTINCTS, to win games.. Campbell does not have that kind of moxy, some guys have it, some don't.. |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
Campbell for Cutler! I needed that laugh. Shouldn't we complete the Rock Cartwright for Adrian Peterson trade first?
HA HA HA There is a better chance of me being QB this year over Cutler. |

HA HA HA There is a better chance of me being QB this year over Cutler.
I agree its not going to happen, but if McDaniels brings a similar offense to Denver to what he ran in new england, campbell would be a much better fit for their offense. And Cutler is a much better fit for ours. Its not just about how talented a player may be - that player has to be in the right offense. Campbell isnt a good fit for our offense. He may improve, but if such a trade were made, it would be better for all parties involved (the teams and the quarterbacks.) |

I am sure that when McDaniels was interviewing he said, "Psst. By the way, I know Cutler made the Pro-Bowl but there is this secret weapon in Washington who we could bring here for cheap. If you don't hire me, please don't tell anyone my secret". If he traded Cutler for Campbell, there would be a riot in Denver. |

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
Just for the sake of discussion....
I'm a big Jason Campbell fan, i think that under Zorn JC will become a good if not great QB. But, Jay Cutler is already the type of QB i think that Jason Campbell is going to become. Jay Cutler is futrure Jason Campbell except Denver's WCO is more vertical then ours and Cutler is better throwing on the run then JC, but otherwisw they have very similiar tools. |

Wonder if it was this discussion prompted some moronic fan to ask Cutler this question:
Jeff (Charlotte, NC): Hey Matt - lots of rumors flying around the skins message boards wondering if there could be a 3 way trade between skins, KC, and Denver. Denver gets Cassel, skins get Cutler, KC gets Campbell and draft picks - any chance something like this happens? Matt Mosley: (12:53 PM ET ) Jeff, you desperately need sleep. Of all the scenarios I've heard, this makes the least sense. I'm Jason Campbell's biggest apologist, but there's no way Pioli's going to give up Cassell for him. Not in a million years. Not in 10 million years.
Jeff, whoever you are, if you're reading this thread, why dont you do us all a favor and start rooting for the Panthers? |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
I like Jason Campbell more than most, but I would take Cutler in a heartbeat. I disagree with you, however, when you imply that he is available or that the Broncos would deal him for a 1st round pick. The teams that approached them did so because McDaniels is the new coach and they though maybe he would rather bring Cassell with him to Denver. Didn't happen and the Broncos would be absolutely insane to trade Cutler for the 13th pick. Cutler is the best young QB in the league. If Denver can get a run game he'll be one of the great ones. So I'd take him, but he ain't coming.
It's March. That's why! :D |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
I like Campbell a lot, but I would say that if we could get Cutler at a reasonable price there is no reason not take it. Cutler is a pro bowl QB. Not saying that Jason Campbell can't be, but when you can get a proven commodity you take it.
Will or would the Broncos trade him for the 13th pick? Doubtful. They would probably want a lot more than just the 13th pick. They would probably want at a minimum 2 first round picks and maybe even another high round pick. Denver would be absolute stupid if they trade him away because getting franchise QBs is really hard to do. I know that he is not as good as Elway, but he is better than anyone else they have since Elway. They should hold onto him. |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.

Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
We should be going hard after him...we have not had a franchise QB since 1982. And yes I think Cutler is one. I would go as high as two #1's to get him.
|
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
I think he has the talent, but he seems to be a whiny little, thin-skinned crybaby...so no thanks.
DEFINITELY not for two #1 picks. |
Re: Seems like Cutler might be available.
Just say no to tossing away draft picks. Cutler is a very talented young QB but we already have our own young and talented QB, let's continue to develop him.

DEFINITELY not for two #1 picks.
Amen. Thin-skinned is right. Kind of like the way he refuses to meet with his new head coach. It's a tough business, Jay. This probably won't be the first time your name is floated in a trade rumor. Grow up. I equate his behavior to a little kid throwing a tantrum by stomping his feet and putting his fingers in his ears. He comes off like a jerk. |
