Rogers improves every game but gave his man too deep a cushion in the Jags game. He's fast but not THAT fast.

Don't be a Homer, Hess It's Deangelo. Springs is not a superhuman but he is better than the alternative. Although Wright and Rumph look better, I don't know which I'd choose, they've both made decent plays, but probably the guy from the U.

hall's overrated. he just talks a lot o he gets more hype. I'm not saying he's bad, just over rated.

Does anyone remember hearing that Rogers was the only player since Deion in the combine to put up change of direction times in the way he did??????

I dont see that all, not even close.
Deion was the master at side to side and stretch it out. Deion would never charge the line of scrimmage like Rogers b/c that would have to make him touch or tackle somebody and that could get his uniform dirty.

Also from the same blurb: "expect the Redskins to have problems on third downs with slot receivers catching the ball right at the first down marker."

That is exactly what has plagued this defense all year. They arent rerouting or playing their guys tight enough. That assesment is dead on but to the defense side.

Does anyone remember what games Springs missed last year? I ask because I am lazy and don't want to check. At the time, I remember thinking that Springs was the keystone of the whole thing and that without his skills the schemes sort of fell apart. Just wondering.

Springs missed one game v. Kansas City. All this non-sense is....non-nonse!

Springs missed one game v. Kansas City last year. I don't think he played against Tampa, but possibly suited up.

I think the upside to having Rumph and Wright working in the system early is that when and if Springs comes back, we'll have two good nickel DB to compete during our playoff run.

Yeah, I agree we have to cut Springs IMMEDIATELY to free up some cap space. Then we can cut Rogers as well to make room for the 22 rookies we need. My final idea is, since offensive lineman are cheaper than cornerbacks, maybe we can get some OLs and teach them how to be good cornerbacks. Then we may be able to get down to 11 starters (everybody playing both ways) and finally get under the salary cap. I mean, it almost worked for the Florida Marlins!

The only guys who I can see getting cut are the guys on the field that are not making plays . If lil manning and V young both torch us the next two weeks , maybe we should cut our secondary coach . Its not like no team before us has lost a CB during the year . The Patriots lost both of their starting corners and a safety and won the super bowl . We get Springs back in a few weeks , the young guys now have some games under their belt , Carter and AA get more comfortable ,,, and we stomp the cowboys like we did last year .

uhh.. you're not going to do better than jerry gray, (who's a legit D coorinator coaching cornerbacks). Yet another person that i'm glad is not in charge of the team. If the CBs suck, it's because, SURPRISE!, the CBs suck :P. The FO bares the blame of letting talent walk and not replacing it adequately or the failure to addres depth needs until 1 week before the season starts.
