Re: Kevin Dyson signed
Snyder: What up VC?
Cerrato: Chillin g', doin' my thang up in this piece Snyder: Word...word Gibbs: Yo bitches! <<gets message on sidekick>> Oh shit, ST tried to pop a cap in some fool Snyder: Motherf**er! All right we need to do somethin' 'bout this, need to distract them media fools with some other news out of Redskins Park Cerrato: What if we just sign somebody? Snyder: Who? Gibbs: Fuck it...call Kevin Dyson Seriously, that's exactly how the conversation went down
I can't believe I had to miss things like this!!! I've been deprived... |
Re: Kevin Dyson signed
I for one do not think that the Dyson signing was a distraction. As some of you may recall, the Redskins were looking into signing Dyson in 2003, in 2004 and again several weeks back. Moreover, I doubt Gibbs would waste the time to deal with Dyson just to distract the fans and media from Taylor. A team doesn't sign a guy within 12 hours of a player being charged with a crime just for the press.
I actually do remember hearing that, but...gosh...kind of a lot has happened since then. Dyson got old in a hurry and the Skins didn't need another WR unless he's a number 1. I think they officially have 7 #2 to #4 receivers on the roster now...lol |
Re: Kevin Dyson signed
i don't know that much about his game but did see his catch against the bills i think he looked pretty fast back then. he has decent size so he may not be a distraction. i think that we were going to sign him anyway because they were interested before. hopefully he can prove that he has back from his injury plagued season and produce.

Re: Kevin Dyson signed
Dyson used to be a good #2, but as the Post has reported, he's been plagued by injuries the past several years. If he can return to form, he'd be one of the best #5 wideouts in the league and one of the better #4s. But that's a big "if" considering he's had lingering injuries for three years. Nevertheless, given that he signed a dirt cheap contract, the signing makes sense; if he pans out great, if not, nothing lost but a roster spot for a few months.

Re: Kevin Dyson signed
most of you were crying we didnt have anyone over 6 foot, (besides mccants) and now we get a guy that still has time to prove himself and he's 6'2" 212, about gardner's size with more speed and better hands (yet injury proan) and now you act shocked. make up your mind peeps

Re: Kevin Dyson signed
Jrox,
I actually don't recall too many people making a big stink over having short wideouts. I think the general consensus was that small, fast recievers (i.e. Patriots-style) are en vogue now and for good reasons (i.e. the new emphasis on contact 5 yards past the LOS). Nevertheless, I do remember some people making a few comments here and there about the lack of height in our WR corps. |

Re: Redskins Sign WR Kevin Dyson
dyson was probably signed more because he's played in two super bowls than anything else...

I can't think of any other reason, other than that one, and to have him to push DMac. |
