Re: Redskins Receivers Rotation

Ok so the key detail is one year deals. Have of them will be gone. No big deal

I think people think, erroneously, that we're making moves to acquire WRs instead of other moves. Like we're sitting there saying well we can either sign Stokley and Stallworth or we can re-sign Jammal Brown and get Cullen Jenkins. It's not like that at all. The more complex moves are still in play, but while those are being worked out shorter, simpler moves are made.

That said, the move to get Stokley I don't think was necessary

Re: Redskins Receivers Rotation

Redskins took a non-existent issue: the lack of competition among-st wide receivers, added a dose of veteran and shot it in the face four times today.

Hey at this point we might as well sign Derrick Mason.

Offensive line? What's that? I've never heard of that football position before. Did you mean to say tight end or wide receiver?
Hey at this point we might as well sign Derrick Mason.
Would be the best player we've added this week, sadly. No, not including Cofield in that.

I like the moves of bringing in some guys to compete for playing time. We will see what Austin and Kelly are made of by bringing in the vets to compete for playing time. Stallworth , if healthy , can bring another down field threat to the team ala philly with Desean and Maclin. Stokely is one of those guys that can produce, again if healthy. I am hoping Kelly really steps up this year and plays because he has the size and ability to be a really good reciever. We could have a very good corp of recievers if Moss, Stallworth, Armstrong, Kelly, Austin, and Stokely are all healthy.

Absolutely. All these WR's are signing 1 year deals that are probably totally or almost totally non-guaranteed money. No big deal at all. Still funny, though.

The bummer to me is parting ways with Jarmon. Granted that was a Vinny move, but he was a 3rd round draft choice just a few years ago (supplemental, but a 3rd round pick nonetheless).

This reminds me of a time I saw a highlight of a weird formation done by the Packers. There were only three linemen, with Sterling Sharpe as the QB, and the rest of the players were lined up as WRs. Unfortunately I can't find a picture or footage of it.

Well, if it makes us feel any better, they did this last year too.

And decided to keep AND START Joey Galloway.

Oh god I had totally forgotten about that. Really comforting thought moving forward....

If someone were to tell me that Keenan McCardell is coming out of retirement to play with the Redskins, I would probably believe it.
