I'm pretty disgusted the Cowboys have a top 10 this year. They've got too much talent to be in the top 10. I'm still glad they choked their season away, of course.
Their talent isn't as good as many think.. They have a old ass OLine and honestly a very avg secondary. Jenkins had a horrific season.
It's going to be interesting to see how teams feel about Taylor's character
Interesting, I didn't know much about him other than what I saw in a few articles around the senior bowl. He seems to be one of the few guys with the physique of a 3-4 NT, so I'd be curious how character balances out with need. What did he do? (Just curious).

He's gotten into some ill-advised fights. Believe some assault charges are what got him kicked out of Penn State

Von Miller should definitely be our #10 pick over anyone else IMO. If he is gone at #10, I think it is open to whoever is the best available player in a position of need. I think that lends itself to the defensive side of the ball. With the exception of LT, which we already have in Trent, you would be reaching to draft any other line position there and the QB class frankly scares me at that high in the draft.

Agreed. But he won't make past pick 6 unfortunately

Should Von Miller be gone I propose:
1st round Cameron Jordan DE
2nd round Phil Taylor NT (he falls to us because of character concerns)

Voila! Overnight we go from an unimpressive front three on defense to a formidable front three, thus making the entire defense better.

My two cents.

Don't know why but I think we should stay away from Jordan. Taylor would be nice but he's probably gone by mid to late first round. Quinn is pretty impressive but he is more if a 4-3 type. I just dunno. We have so many needs!! If we lost that meaningless Jags game we'd be picking 6th. Alot more would be avail. Plus it's really hard to guess what any team is going to pick until after free agency. Alot of teams could fill a need thru FA then have a completely different outlook on their draft. For example when the Skins traded for Mcnabb..... We then had no talk about us taking a Qb in last years draft. So it's all speculation at this point.
Just get the highest-ranked O-lineman.

11. Nate Solder, OT, Colorado: 13.25
High: 10 (Kiper); Low: 18 (Wright)
I like the way you think:
Where do you think we need to improve along the OL and how?
How would this OL look next year:
LT-Trent Williams
LG-Corey Lichtensteiger
C-Will Montgomery
RG-FA Logan Mankins/Davin Joseph
RT-Draftee Derrek Sherrod
Re: 2011 NFL Draft Consensus Big Board

I'm really intrigued by the thought of getting R. Quinn. I think it's a foregone conclusion that Von Miller will be gone when we pick. While Quinn comes from a 4-3 defense, he has the skill set to translate into a top notch rush linebacker in the 3-4.

I think Solder could develop into a stud tackle as he has excellent mobility, he was recruited as a TE, he is still a bit raw and it wouldn't make much sense to go after a tackle that high when we have Jamaal Brown. We definitely need to look for youth at the position, but it's not as great a need right now as it will be in a year or two. We need impact players that can start or earn significant playing time early as opposed to project players.

My draft, if all things fell together:

1) V. Miller or R. Quinn
2) R. Hudson or S. Wisniewski or P. Taylor

I think in regards to ranking the talent, this is by far the best, most accurate I think.

I would like Von Miller at 10 for us...but I think the best value are the several of the DEs in the teens. So if Miller is gone, trade back and grab one.

Its very scary to me Blane Gabbert is rated that high

trade down, pick up locker at 23 or 24, add another 3rd rounder, and get the best OL in the 2nd and best LBs with the 3rd round picks

Re: 2011 NFL Draft Consensus Big Board

I was looking at the Oregon team, especially the Defense, and all their prospects, and I got to say that their team has a lot of good players on it, whom I think are very NFL caliber and could definitely help us, especially in the later rounds.
OLB Kenny Rowe
ILB/OLB Casey Matthews
DE/DT Brandon Bair
WR Jeff Maehl
We could easily get all these guys in, at the earliest, the 4th round (Matthews could make a late push to be drafted in the second round), but most of these guys are 5,6,7th rounders.
