Re: Arm Chair GM- What would you do.
I've had Edwards in my fantasy this year and I could not get consistency from him at all. I liked him in college, wanted him in the draft, while he was traded for cheap I dont believe in his skills to sign him large but watching Bolding go to the Ravens w/o the Skins even reaching for him in FA and the need to accomany Moss with a competent big receiver I'd have to say we may not get another chance (although I heard alot of FA will be available)
Question: Rocky played undersized at ILB wouldnt his work ethic and how he has overplayed his initial rookie label of being injury prone earn him a chance for our OLB. Lorenzo was decent but not in pass coverage(not so much rocky too) but Rocky slipped in the draft b/c of knee problems but I heard he is always an offseason hero. That to me is worth a shot. Lastly, I say revamp OL/DL and we will worry about a qb next year- trade DM/AH get us blocking/pass rush/big stud WR and bet that we will not be decimated in the run game but rather with health aid our Pass game which suprisingly could be great even w/o any high profile qb.
The Jets ran the football a lot early in the year. It was their key to success, not to mention Mark Sanchez was targeting Dustin Keller on 70% of plays because of how well he was performing. The Jets had Santonio Holmes, Jericho Cotchery and lets not forget a huge receiving threat in Tomlinson. To expect Edwards to get fantasy points on a consistent basis would be pretty foolish.. Rocky needs to go. He was terrible this year, I would rather see HB Blades go in then watch Rocky just struggle at everything. Sure he's a great talent in a 4-3, but half the problem is motivation from our players.. Rocky is part of a group of players that don't want to work hard. Bye Rocky, it was nice knowing you.. Go become some star on another team, but you didn't get it done here. I would have agreed with you on passing on a QB after having seen Locker struggle, Luck go back to college, Mallett get exposed later in the year, Newton run an offense that wouldn't be an easy transition to what the Redskins run, and Ponder just have a rough year all around... But go watch some Blaine Gabbert film. This guy is the next young quarterback sensation a la Ryan, Flacco, Sanchez, etc. There's no doubt in my mind. |

I wanted to start a new thread, but chose to post the 2010 assessment here. Why, because Akh over on HRedskins.com has the best grading system for the current players, and the best assessment anywhere on FA and the 2011 Draft. If you visit the thread, you will probably agree, wholeheartedly!

Re: Arm Chair GM- What would you do.
We've known for a good amount of time that Arizona is out of play but it seems even more likely now that they won't go after McNabb.
Fitzgerald's first recommendation was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb, for whom the Eagles are expected to entertain trade offers. Fitzgerald also brought up Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Marc Bulger, whose contract is up this offseason. What's also notable about Arizona asking Fitzgerald for his opinion is that the Cardinals know they have to keep their wide receiver happy. Fitzgerald is entering the last year of his contract and if the Cardinals don't have a viable quarterback, their Pro Bowl wide receiver might be less likely to re-sign.
|
