You are a pessimist. We get it. It's just hard to accept your opinion when it's based on such a limited sample. Add to that the fact that you rarely acknowledge anything positive, and it just seems like you are waiting for our collapse. You should try to be more objective.
Also, if you are right, and we have a terrible season as you expect, it won't be because you have some special football insight. It's just the better odds. Anyone can see we have some major adversity to overcome, and more working against us, than for us (rookie HC, aging OL, etc.).
I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist, and there is a difference. I'm not pretending to be an amazing football guru that has a wealth of football knowledge. I was a stat girl for quite a few years, but that hardly makes me professionally qualified to accurately rate our players on an individual basis. I’m no highschool football coach, that’s for sure (note sarcasm)!! I'm a fan, a diehard fan, that watches the game (every game) very closely and forms opinions. I'm negative about our QB play (so often) because it sets the tone for the entire team. So yes, I have little faith in our ability to win games when JC is our QB. Until I see a lot of improvement I will continue to feel that way. To suggest I’m anxiously awaiting the demise of this team is flat out ridiculous. I want the Skins to win and hope for it every week. Re: Redskins-Giants: Offensive Review
I In the future, I’d hope that we see more 2 TE stuff from this offense, as two of our top offensive playmakers play that position.
Agreed
It’s hard to hold anything against Zorn thus far. I agree with any of you who think that the lack of a hurry-up offense was perplexing down the stretch, but Zorn masterfully ran down the clock in the first half prior to the Redskins only TD, so the clock management was definately a mixed bag.
Interesting, I would have used the adjective "fortunately" rathern than "masterfully"
The playcalling is obviously skewed due to the final two drives in which the Redskins were forced to throw. The playcalling was pretty even to that point, with a strong tendency to run on first down. I’m not really sure how I feel like that: if there is a weakness on the Giants, its their secondary, and we simply did not test them often enough. Still, I’m not mad that we ran the ball so often — even though the Giants had a great rush D last year, the run is going to be our bread and butter early in the season.
Again, agreed
Prior to that last, meaningless drive, Campbell had thrown only 19 passes. 19. That’s fewer than 5 passes per quarter! Put very simply, there isn’t a whole lot that Campbell should be expected to accomplish when throwing fewer than 5 times per quarter. Campbell looked hesitant and slow making his reads, sometimes struggling to find his second target if his primary target was covered. That’s not something that should inspire confidence in the fanbase, but it shouldn’t have been a complete shock.
Are you talking about actual passes, or pass plays? Are you factoring in false starts, sacks, etc. where no pass is actually thrown? Also, did you notice WRs "giving up" on the play as Moss implied he did on one play where it didn't develop as quickly as planned and Moss figured JC must have been sacked?
Pete Kendall had the best game of any of the linemen in pass pro.
And here I was about to predict Kendall would be benched for Jansen by week 4
Randle El- 7 for 73, 2 false starts
Two false starts is inexcusable for a veteran WR. |
Retarded thread. Where's the panic? Where's the doom and gloom? Why aren't you calling for Zorn to be fired, Campbell benched, and Cerrato indicted?
Seriously though, nice work :)
YAAH!!!!!!!! What he said. thanx for the work! |

   UNCLE!
Realists focus on *objective* facts. However, it seems your opinion is that we will never win with JC as our QB. Funny thing is, it's not just about the QB -- it's about the whole team. It's hard to convince me you are being objective when your only/biggest gripe is JC. We clearly have more (bigger) problems than him. IMO, our biggest problem is the OL. Sure, JC needs to get the ball out quicker, but if he had more time this issue would be moot. Come to think of it, JC has two problems I can think of: holds the ball too long, and is making slow reads/too conservative. Those are minor problems, IMO, and it's nothing unexpected considering he's learning yet another offense. :twocents: |

The ball being thrown (and caught) for more than 9 yards repeatedly. Not having so many three and outs. TDs (more than 2). Portis running for more the 100 yards in at least 6 games. CBs catching ITs that result in points. Not consistently allowing the deep ball from opposing teams. Ending drives in the endzone at the end of games. Improved time management. Very few penalties on both sides of the ball. If Skins break 500 with JC as QB, I'll consider that improvment. UNCLE!
Then explain the Ravens winning with Trent Dilfer, the Bears going to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman, Dan Marino having no Super Bowl wins.. Football is a team game.. Sure one or two people can impact that, but to put SO much emphasis on JC (or anyone else for that matter) is just crazy. |

Thanks for pointing this out. I now have renewed hope that we'll make it to the Superbowl... lol |

I think the whole team has to step it up to contribute to those improvements right (not just Campbell and Rogers)? Either way, do you understand why what you just wrote there has more weight than a lot of the other posts we have seen here in recent days? |

My point, genius, is that one player doesn't make a team. Teams have succeeded without elite QB and teams have flailed about with great QB. To put SO much focus on ONE player is just silly. It proves a complete lack of knowledge of the game. |
Re: Redskins-Giants: Offensive Review
Great job, GTripp.
I have been thinking that about Sellers for a while now. He is not a high-quality pure FB, and that hurts the run game. He does lots of other things well, but that's an issue. Cooley must improve on his run blocking. While it's a tough assignment at times with DEs, he needs to at least make some contact on those plays! Maybe when Fred Davis develops, it will free things up, but he's got to do better. I think JC needs to throw more as well, but that's where the lack of 3rd down efficiency really killed us. A few more yards on a few of those 3rds and you get a new set of downs, more chance to open the playbook and use the previous plays to set things up, create mismatches, etc. Having to punt like a billion times does not allow an offense to get in rhythm. We hear that over and over, but it is true. And the rhythm is not just for JC. It's for Zorn and his playcalling. Nice Job! |

I often call out JC and Rogers because they suck more often than they don’t suck, and the frustration level is overwhelming with them. I think you all need be aware that I keep the majority of my posts short and sweet for fear of being steamed rolled by the mob. I got your point, know it all. There are plenty of people that don't think JC has what it takes. Me thinking the same does not mean I lack complete knowledge of this game, nor does it mean I think JC single-handedly is the reason we are losing. However, I do think he is a very large contributor. Your misrepresentation of my comments is offensive. If you'd like to continue to insult my intelligence, PM me. |
