sorry guys, just call me illCurmudgeon.

illCurmudgeon:
Welcome, my brother! :biggthump Big C: Strahan had a down year for him last year. And the reason I am not falling all over myself about the addition of Griffen is that he played pretty miserably last year. He also has a reputation for "taking plays off" but it seems that he doesn't tell anyone when he's going to do that. Last year, he watched a LOT of RBs stroll through the middle of the Giants' D-line so that the LBs and backs could make the tackle. I'd have to check this out, but I thought that Hamilton was hurt for about half the season; whatever. The Giants' D-line was hardly their strong suit last year. Maybe I exaggerated when I said they were as bad as the Skins' D-line from last year which was just piss-pot-poor. But the Giants' D-line is a major reason that Barrow got as many tackles as he did. He did not get 50 of those tackles on the offensive side of the line of scrimmage! |
SC,
Strahan had 18.5 sacks and 61 tackles last year. If that was a down year I'd hate to see what he can really do. |
its the nagging ones on the older guys that really bother me. Randy Thomas too..remember what happened to Fiore?
and then how comforting is it to know that our best receiver by far will be playing the whole year hurt??
dude, how old do you think randy thomas is, we got him at a young age, at the prime of his career. If im not mistaken hes only 26 |
he's 28. wonder why i thought he was older. musta got confused with Fiore.
|
fiore is only 30 also, not like hes ancient like ray brown lol, but fiore did have like a degenerative condition with his knee, and thats why we drafted dockery, because we knew fiore had the problems.
|
Funny how the last 2 drafts have gone. When we drafted Dockery alot of people questioned it, then Fiore barely gets on the field and he's now retired.
This year we take a couple of lineman and people questioned that as well. Now Jansen is out for the year and the Wilson pick looks alot better, for depth at least. |
Does anyone think Gibbs is working them to hard? everyone complained under marty about how hard he worked them. No one is complaining under gibbs but there are tons of little things. Do you think this is the coachs pushing them, or did our players just not come in good shape this year.
Interesting question. I think he really worked them after that Carolina game because he was not happy with the execution. Apparently that morning practice really was a doozy. I'm pretty confident that folks are in shape, but it takes time to really get the body used to the punishment of the season, and to work into real game shape. But I don't think he's working them too hard. We want tough players who bust their asses on every play. This is how you find out what your team is made of. And don't worry: Bubba is the best in the business. He'll patch em up. :coach: |
most teams have tons of looming injuries now, so im not worried about it. Everyone is sore from camp, thats why theres a scheduled break before teh season starts.
