What does everyone think of taking a flyer on John David Booty? I'm not sure I would want him as early as the 3rd round but if he slips he could be an interesting pickup later on.

[quote=30gut;434710]Interesting picks. Here's another D-AA safety for you to look at: Corey Lynch(freakin interception magnet) the best safety in D-1 AA

Wasn't Reed Doughty the best safety in AA last year?

Re: my latest draft thoughts

Reed came out in 2006.

Maybe in the sixth round, but it's hard for me to believe someone wouldn't have grabbed him before then. If no one has...that should be a pretty big red flag.

But 6th round will be the first time I feel anyone could get value on Booty.

5th or 6th round is what I was thinking. Seems like he would be a good fit for the WCO.

I mean, if he grades out higher than all remaining prospects, then we should go for it, but he's the 8-10th best QB in this draft; I have to imagine that someone we like more will last longer.

Yea, that is the best way to go. No wasted draft picks like with JOrdan Palmer. Maybe we can get a guy to train up in the system like Tony Romo did at Dallas.

There should be tons of QB's who don't get drafted, but are good enough to play in the NFL. We just have to hope pour scouting department does a good job of finding that player.

Drafting a QB in '08 = Not So Prudent Move

The more and more I look at what this team needs this draft will not cover it. This is going to take two drafts so pick the best player when the pick comes up. We have many needs so it shouldn't be that hard to find talent! As for the first pick CB or DL would be good for me as long as he is going to be a star for us for years to come! As for a high pick at WR I am not sold on that unless someone falls to us we never thought would be there. I like also to see if Mix has anything to offer in 08 and if not get the WR in next years draft.

Go back to school. Reading a post from you is like deciphering a 5 year old's crayon markings on his bedroom wall. Is there really a good reason you capitalize every word?

Fills all of our needs pretty much. Nice mock. Although I probably would prefer Branden Albert over Talib.

Just a question, why do we have 3 7th rounders?
