Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
Thank you, finally someone understands why I said that we should pick Dennis Dixon.
I don't know that all the reasons Gus mentioned indicate an understanding of why we should go after someone who's coming off a major knee injury |

No for that particular post I was just saying that someone finally understood what I meant, I wasnt talking about the whole knee thing there. |
Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
Um, you lost me. But that's ok. Moving on

Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
Wasn't Dilfer the 2nd string guy in 49ers? I think he would prob be looking to be the back up somewhere, since I though it was made clear that Collins would be the backup to JC. Maybe if Dilfer doesn't mind being #3 then it would be nice to have two veterans as back ups. I was thinking, do many teams develop a young QB at #3? Just curious...plus I think we'd be in terrible shape if we had to start our #3 QB.

Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
vinny said we're looking to draft a mid to late round QB, so i'd take that as being honest. ideally a guy like henne falls to the late 2nd and becomes our next rypien :P realistically, we waste a draft pick on a guy that'll never play and has limited chances of progressing anyways.

I hope its Dennis Dixon, because whoever gets him will be very happy to see how good he really is, if hes knee is healed, but if it isn't I would probably pick somone like Josh Johnson. |
Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
If Andre Woodson drops to the third round I would take him, because he is like how Jason Campbell was coming into the draft, slow arm motion, mediocre mechanics, a big arm, and if I'm correct some WCO excperience, if we take him we could try to fix all his faults and make him the starter.

Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
why every person that gets cut someone has to start a post to say we should pick them up?

I can't speak for anyone else but since Dilfer has played in Seattle with Zorn they have worked together before he got cut I think it would be a good fit that's why I started this thread. But I do agree with others that we need to groom a QB for the future maybe not this year but next year for sure. |

I would pass on Dixon. Personally I just think QB's that come out of that shotgun veer option offense have problems adjusting to the pro game. Alex Smith can't seem to grasp the pro passing game and neither has Vince Young. |
Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
I don't see the need for Dilfer anymore now that we re-signed TC. Sounds like we'll look for a #3 in the draft.

Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?
Exactly, with Todd locked up, we can take a later round risk, or perhaps one of the ......promising guys we sent down last season? Anyway, not a high priority
