This game is going to rely on Campbell. Their back 4 are simply just bad. Their front 7 rival that of any in the nfl. We still need to pound the ball, but I expect a lot of high percentage quick plays in the passing game, tons of running, and the occasional play action and go deep.
Our safeties arnt bad... they are solid. But our corners are average...

Play action deep to Moss is probably a good bet. As long as your ground game had been effective to set it up... to make our pass rushers bite on it and go after the RB. If so, you could probably get one off to a WR whose CB was peaking in the backfield...
He isnt 100% though, is he? I know he will be healthy enough to play... but he isnt going to be getting the full load, right? Wont he be splitting snaps?
Portis isn't the guy you have to watch out for it's Betts, Portis's health in this one wont make a bit of difference, he's not a power runner, Betts is quicker to the hole and stronger, he's much more suited for this game. as your front 7 will make running very difficult. Mason if he see's time would be the other guy that could do damage as well, I like him more than Rock.

Both defense's are better than the offenses's they're playing, thus field position, as well as home field advantage will be key for the Redskins. Every week in the NFL is a challenge, I'm confident Jason and the team are up to it.

Reading that article you would think their defense won the super bowl single handedly last year and JC has to clime mount everest to get a drink of water.

pst, we have a pretty good offensive line, two great running backs, and pretty good wide receivers too you know.

He said he felt no discomfort in his knee during practice. He's listed as probable. Betts will get some carries, but Portis will get more.

The key to the game tomorrow is our offensive line needs to protect JC and open holes for our backs. The Dolphins D had 47 sacks last year (3rd overall in the NFL). So Samuels and Kendall better get familiar with each other quick, or we are in trouble.

The game is going to be won or lost at the line of scrimmage. If our O-line holds up to Miami's formidable (but not dominant) front seven, our offense will put up enough points (16-21) to beat Miami.

Well JP Losman got 3 TD passes against that D last year so...

How is it not dominant? We were 3rd in the league in sacks. We were 5th in the league against the run (3.5 ypc). And that was without Joey Porter! Not to mention, the rest of the talent that is in that front 7. The leading tackler in the NFL last year (Zach Thomas), the Defensive Player of the Year (Jason Taylor), Channing Crowder, Vonnie Holiday, and Matt Roth.

Our front 7 is one of the best in the league...

You can crack our offense... or even our secondary. But to not respect our front 7 is ignorant...

It's why the league gets shook up every year and the Redskins can be 4th in D one year, and 32nd the next.

Fins have a lot of talent on the defense, but they aren't young.

So you expect a fall off... even though they improved the talent?
So you expect a fall off... even though they improved the talent?
I think a fall off is inevitable. They were top ten last year. If they can stay top half, the Fins have a chance to be .500 (or maybe a bit better). But as good as Thomas and Taylor have been, it's not like they will be this good when they are 60. At some point production peaks and begins to slide.

How else has Miami improved their D? Porter? He's in the same boat as the other two with age.

What about whatshisface safety you guys drafted from Tennessee last season. Is he going to be in the starting lineup this year? Is Channing Crowder going to be a lot better than last season? Wheres all this optimism coming from?

I doubt Jason Campbell and the offense are sanguine about facing the Dolphins' defense.

Redskins' offensive meeting:

Al Saunders: Ok, we are going to face a team in Miami that, yes, was ranked at nearly the top of the league last year, but who we can't expect much from on Sunday.

Jason Campbell: Yes, last I checked Porter is a year older than he was last year.

Clinton Portis: Right, these guys will be ready for collecting their old folks' government dole checks in another 35 years. If we have the National Defense, they should call their defense "Social Security."

Al Saunders: I like that, "Social Security." It's so true. We are talking cupcakes here. I'll tell you what - toss that 700 page playbook out. Let's just go sandlot tomorrow and have some fun.

Jason Campbell: What about Crowder? You'd think he would do better than over 100 tackles last year, second on the team on the 4th ranked defense in the NFL.

Chris Cooley: Yes you would think that. Wait a minute, why would you think that?

Al Saunders: Chris, are contradicting your starting quarterback?

Chris Cooley: No, sir.

Al Saunders: That's what I thought.

Santana Moss: Can I get in a word about Porter? "30" That's all you need to know about his ability. He's 30 years old. This guy was born during the Carter administration! I wouldn't worry about him at all.

Jon Jansen: He'll probably be on the oxygen tank by the first commercial time out.

Mike Sellers: I don't think I have the heart to hit him.

Joe Bugel: You'll be out of the game faster than you know what hit you if you do hit him, Sellers. Let Porter run around back there. He's on a new team and we don't want to embarass the old codger. He can't do any harm. He's going to look like Tim Conway doing the old man walk.

Antwaan Randle El: Tim Conway doing the old man walk?

Joe Bugel: Yes, like when when he was on The Carol Burnett Show.

Randy Thomas: The Carol Burnett Show? Well, I'm glad we're all spring chickens around here.

Jason Campbell: Alright, I wanted us to relax about Miami, but I think this is getting a little out of hand.

Al Saunders: No, Jason, this is right on target. Look at this chart: as you can see, with each passing year, a person gets one year older. At some point, a person physically just falls apart. Now when you look at Miami's defense, I noticed something remarkable. Not one but every single player has gotten a year older. It's obvious they are going to collapse.

Jon Jansen: Wow. Can you believe that? What about the back ups though? Did they get any younger?

Al Saunders: I checked on them. You're not going to believe what I found.

Jon Jansen: No.

Al Saunders: Yes. They all got a year older too. Every last one.

Donald Rumsfeld: It'll be a cakewalk.

Jason Campbell: I don't think this mission is accomplished yet.

Joe Gibbs: (To himself) I think I need to be at all the offensive meetings from now on.
