Hey, even found an article that is interesting. It says "worth every penny".

Money in the bank: wide receiver Laveranues Coles raised a lot of eyebrows when he signed a $35 million free-agent contract with the Redskins in the offseason—but so far, he has earned every penny Football Digest - Find Articles

"Here's a little factoid that may interest you: since Dan Snyder took over in 1999, not a single high-priced free agent he has brought in has made the Pro Bowl. (NOTE: 2005 Pro-Bowlers Portis and Moss were traded for, remember. Give something to get something.)"
Sorry Bill B., but I do agree that Washington is high priced, but even if you don't, you can't deny Coles.

Coles wasn't a free agent.
I feel like i take up for Czaban alot, b/c usually he sais what i think (for the most part). I am a fan and I've been usually disappointed for the better part of 15 years only to renew hope every offseason. There are worse owners out there and I've got to believe that Snyder wants to win badly enough that he'll do anything, even change a little.
As tough as I am on Danny boy, I have to agree, I really think he wants to build a winner in the tradition of the 80's teams he grew up watching. Unfortunately someone has gotten it into his head that you can build a winner by going out and pulling your scouting reports straight out of Street and Smith's Fanatasy Football Guide. if there is a splash to be made, he'll be the first one to attempt the cannonball.

Restricted FA wasn't he?

As for Czabe, what's this about their my team when they win but not when they lose? If they're your team, they're your team win or lose.

Oh I mean Coles was restricted and we had to give up a first rounder to get him so he doesn't apply I don't think.

Yes he was, read my link I posted.

Restricted or not, a free agent is a free agent.

I think it applies. Like I said, a free agent is a free agent. Just because we might have given up a little more doesn't mean anything.

We traded for Coles

I like Czaban on the air usually, but that was a lame article. It sounds like it could have been written by some of the posters around here....blame Snyder for everything, even though he is clearly just honoring the wishes of his high profile staff.

And come on dude, we are a long way away from home blackouts. That's just idiotic.

That was addressed...Coles was not a FA signee, we had to trade to get him (give something to get something).
Washington did make the Pro Bowl in 2004, baldy needs to check his facts a little closer. Perhaps if he wasn't always shooting off like a rabid fan he would come off a little more legit.
But was Washington a "high priced" free agent? I always thought he was more of a fair priced free agent.
Just for kicks here are our Pro Bowl selections since Snyder took over.

2000: Alexander, Bailey, Coleman, Davis

2001: Arrington, Bailey, Samuels

2002: Arrington, Bailey, Samuels

2003: Arrington, Bailey, Coles

2004: Washington

2005: Moss, Samuels

2006: Samuels
Well, just for kicks:

Records for those years...

2000 8-8
2001 8-8
2002 7-9
2003 5-11
2004 6-10
2005 10-6
2006 5-11

Totals since Snyder started building his teams 49-63.

Let's not forget the general premise of Czaban's article.

Unless my math is wrong Snyder's win-loss record is 49-63. It still sucks and illustrates that given his involvement he's definitely not helping build a winning team.
