Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
I cannot remember a time when the division was more ripe for the taking..............we didn't have it

Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
We need to do two things more this year before I will feel we are ready for next year.
1. Score TDs when we get in the red zone. 2. Win the turnover battle the next two games. Our defense has come on, our running game is working, we are getting solid pass protection, and we are taking shots downfield. We are real close to being exactly where we thought we could be this year at this time. With two more wins, we may have been ready for a playoff run. |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
The skins are a victim of bad coaching and Sunday's game vs the Saints proves it in spades. They won on Sunday in spite of the coaching and had they been better coached throughout the season may actually be in the playoff race.

They have no one to blame but themselves.
this about sums it all up. excuses are for losers |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
The division is a lame excuse.
We lost more than our share of winnable games this year and that's why we're 5-9. |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
The division isn't any tougher than it usually is. The Skins just have to man up and win the games they are supposed to.
|
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
None of the other teams in the division is especially impressive. Dallas looks to be the best of the bunch at the moment and they have major holes- I don't see them getting past the first round.
Good teams win no matter what division they are in- that's what makes them good teams. I think the NFC as a whole is the weak sister conference anyway. The Bears are pretty formidable (at least defensively) but the AFC probably has 4-5 teams that are as good or better. |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
This seems almost like it's been a down year for the NFC East and if we were playing like the end of last season we should have taken it pretty easily.
|
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team in our division that we have a lifetime winning percentage against. We have consistently struggled against both the Giants and Cowboys through the years. As I said before, the now Arizona Cardinals (since removed from our division) are the only other team we have a winning percentage against. I'm viewing us being victims of a tough division over a period of time, not just the last few years.

Too right. We have played like crap for most of the season and I doubt we'd be in contention in any division. It's not as the the rest of the NFC East is even that strong either. Our record is a fair reflection of how good we are, not how tough the division is. |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
Hey, at least we beat the Cowboys this season. That always counts for something!

Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
1-4 in the division. The division appears likely to send 2 wildcard teams and the division leader. If the Skins are in another division, they are 7-7 or 6-8 like every other team in the NFC that's not the Bears?
Could be a positive harbinger for next year, that the team isn't as bad as it seems.
the NFC east is not a tough division. giants have derailed, cowboys are erratic, the eagles are coming on strong (but have jeff garcia), and the skins are and should be bringing up there rear... we do seem to get up for bigger games (Jax, Carolina- who is bad right now, and the Saints- who probably overlooked us a little bit). while the NFC east has a storied past, it is by no means a "killer" division. |

This year is just one of the many, the history does not lie. |

3 out of last 4 against the Cowboys as a matter of fact! Bottom line is we lost winnable games (Minnesota, Tennessee, Atlanta, Philly) because we weren't good enough.. Forget the excuse about a tough division, Dallas, Philly and the Giants had to play in the same division but their only exception is they got to play US and get 4 wins so far among them. |
Re: Skins Victim of Tough Division?
This has absolutely nothing to do with the division or schedule or anything of that sort.
The team did not play well this year. Plain and simple. Sadly, we played so poorly, we couldn't get in the playoffs in a down year for the NFC. |
