Re: Brady or Manning?
Could you imagine what Brady's numbers could be if he played in a dome?
They're both awesome, cant go wrong either way |

Peyton = Elway He will get one before it's all over. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
by far brady. he is a winner plain and simple

Re: Brady or Manning?
You could easily say though that Manning has had more offensive weapons around him. He's playing with two #1 caliber WRs in Harrison and Wayne. Brady has never had one WR of that quality let alone two. Manning also played for years with Edge. The best back Brady has had is Dillon and they caught him on the downside of his career.
Going back to his college days Manning has never won "the big one".
I think a lot of the greatness from the Indy receivers just comes from the contintuity that there has been in that organization. The level of chemistry among Harrison, Wayne and Manning makes them a lot better than if any of those players went to another system. I'd still take Manning since I think some of the Pats success comes more from the coaching staff, but its very close. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
I think a more important question is who do I start this weekend on my fantasy team. NE Defense against Indy, or Indy Defense against NE?

Exactly. If you are talking fantasy, hands down Peyton. But Brady is a winner. That is all that matters. EDIT: Manning tends to complain alot, which I find quite annoying. You tend not to hear much out of Brady. Brady also takes paycuts to help the front office out, in keeping players. You almost NEVER hear of that in the NFL these days. |

Start NE defense. First of all they are playing at NE, which I think is huge. Plus Manning has a record of 3-10 vs the Pats. Go with NE D, Manning will put up high numbers, but he will throw picks and/or fumble. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
Peyton = Elway
He will get one before it's all over.
So I guess the question is Elway or Montana then? In my eyes it is Montana. Brady, like Montana is a winner. And Brady has proven time and time again that he can bring his team back into the game, just like Joe Cool did back in the day. I have yet to see Peyton consistently do so. Also when under severe pressure, like agaisnt the Steelers last year, Peyton starts looking like Eli. Just one ring from Peyton would not automatically put him above Brady, in my books. There simply is no comparision until Peyton gets atleast 2 rings, if not more. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
The only way to truly settle that debate is for the 2 to change teams, sometimes schemes have as much to do with a players success as talent itself, I alway's felt Marino would have at least 4 or 5 rings if he played for us in the 80's, Many QB's have had great success in the 9er's offense. I personally believe there is a lesser desparity between Brady and Manning as far as offense goes, both play in offenses that throw downfield, not a dink and dunk style O, Manning does have the benefit of playing in a dome most of the time, I also feel he has better talent around him, the equalizer is Brady has better coaching around him.
Bottom line it has to be Brady, I believe he's better than Montana. Peyton may get there but he has a long way to go to be considered as good as Brady. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
Both guys looked unbelievable this week. Who would you rather have??? I'd go with brady, he seems more unflappable, Manning falls apart when he's faced with adversity. What do you think.
Brady. Can Danny sign him ? |
Re: Brady or Manning?
I'd take either over anything we have. Hell, maybe Brady and Manning might have pets who could start at the Skins?
If the roles were reversed , do you think that Brunell would have won superbowls with the Pats and Brady with the Skins? |
Re: Brady or Manning?
by far brady. he is a winner plain and simple
Manning isn't?
Peyton Manning (2001-2006): 60-25* Tom Brady (2001-2006): 64-21** *excludes final 2 games of 2005 **excludes final game of 2005 Since they both boast ridiculous winning percentages, I'd call them both "winners". Of course, it's just a game and everybody's a winner:food-smil. You win and lose as a team. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
It seems like the big debate is SB Rings, and Brady does has the advantage in that category. However, I'm not ready to hand the title of Next Montana to Brady just yet. While he has done a tremendous amount in the first half of his career, let's wait and see how he continues to perform.
As GTripp has pointed out, you win and lose as a team, and while NE may not have the superstars that Indy has had, they have had a coaching staff that has been able to have their players execute to perfection. Indy has had Jim Mora and Tony Dungy, 2 qualified Head Coaches, but neither big offensive minds. While Belicheck isn't one either, he had Charlie Weis and now a disciple to run the offense. |
Re: Brady or Manning?
Tom Brady is the coolest quarterback under fire. There is no current quarterback that I would rather have under center in the last few minutes of the game and my team needs a score. I'm not knocking Peyton Manning, he definitely gets the job done, but if I had to choose between the two, I'll take Cool Hand Tom.

Did you see the look on Peyton's face after Denver tied the game up with about a minute left on Sunday? He looked like an assassin or something; like he was in just the position that he wanted to be in. It was pretty amazing to watch, IMO. Now, if he can just act that way in January... |
