Are we saying we should've drafted a CB?

By the way, Roger McIntosh is a going to be a good LB.

I would not have been upset had we drafted a CB but what I'm more concerned with is the fact when we have injuries we bring in guys with injury concerns. Sort of like fighting fire with fire.

Getting a corner drafted in the first round for a guy who you were going to drop is a steal. This guy has started in the NFL several seasons, he has just been hurt the last two years.

If this pans out this may be the best move that Cerrato has ever made (if you consider all of the variables).

i guess jacobs leaving means that david van patten will be around all season

Where a player is drafted does not determine whether he can play. I've seen just as many first round bust as seventh round ones. The player he was traded for was a second round choice and he's damaged goods too if he's always injured.

i would have given jacobs away. even if he goes out in first cuts, we're still better off.

he needed depth at OT, S, CB, and experienced help at DT/LB. while i'm not high on folau, i don't know much about him and on paper we've fixed our depth problems.

between antaun edwards, julian battle, and rumph, we should be able to find at least one guy better than jimoh, and if that happens, it means this was a good move. It's the Braves philosophy - the more arms you take, the more you'll graduate into the major leagues. The broncos used the draft to take 3-4 CBs a couple years ago and one of them (foxworth) turned out to be pretty good.

the only downside is that we've got a lot of injury histories on our defense.

right now there's only two types of players you can get (and during the offseason/draft two types that are values): injury problems and crappy players. springs was an injury problem that's worked out fairly well, among others. barrow noble and fiore were ones that didn't work out, but they were VERY cheap mistakes.

I thought Rumph actually played quite hard last Saturday. He's not the best CB in the world but will be the equivalent of Walt Harris. With such incredible Safeties we have a little help, but still am not opposed to adding another say #28?! Where is Walt Harris? I'd take #27 if I couldn't get #28.

Are you really serious? The man is like 45 or 46 by now, there is now way he could contribute on the field...

Re: Mike Rumph just a man not superhero.

Honestly I think he could. Still in great shape. Not a good run stopping corner for his sake, but a fast coverage corner, better than Deion now!
