I like how alot of people I know when asked say they are intrested in the Worold Cup but when you ask them if they have watched any matches they say "NO".Went fishing with a friends son yesterday and he was saying how big of a soccer fan he was and I asked him why he wasn't home watching the biggest soccer event of the next couple of years. He did not realy have an answer.

Well the fact that he fought back proves he isn't totally French. Had he been 100% French he would have called Bruce Arena out to give him a hand and save his ass then turned around and bad mouthed Arena to all the other players.

I think what he meant is the fact that rather than people say "F...Soccer" we actually don't go to the shitter when the scores come on ESPN.

Sounds like something big happened in soccer. I've tried to get interested in soccer, but i don't find it that entertaining. I watched a couple D.C. United games this year, but that was it. How should i sum a soccer match up, well, it's like, anyone seen that clip where homer takes his kids to a soccer game because he saw an ad on t.v. that said this match will decide once and for all who the best nation on earth is, and then when he gets there, it's just like, blargh lol. And i know real soccer isn't like that either, just so you know.

Actualy I took several of them out. Their home from college and have been out flounder fishing 5 to 6 times and had not caught a single flounder. I took them out and they had their limits in about 4 hours and we came home with 30 flounder from about 17 to 24 inches.

Do you have to pay per pound to keep them at all? When I was in Hawaii we had to pay a fee to keep some of them.

International sports are interesting. Countries like France, Brazil, Argentina Germany, and Italy put all of their athletes into one sport, Soccer. There's a some basketball going on there too, but mostly it's soccer. So it's no wonder their teams are so good at it.

Then if you go to Cuba, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic, baseball is pretty much the only game in town. And of course they're great at it.

And then there's Kenya, and pretty much all they do is run marathons. So no wonder they always win the Boston Marathon.

Here in the States we have baseball, football, basketball, golf, soccer, swimming, track & field, hockey, and a whole slew of other sports. All of our athletes spread out into different sports. So internationally, the US teams always seem disappointing because we can't match up with the countries who breed only soccer players (France), or who breed only baseball players (Cuba), or who breed only Hockey players (Canada). You see our record in international play and it's easy to start to think, "hey, the US sucks at sports." But if we put all our athletes into one or two sports, we'd DOMINATE.

If you want to look at the US dominance in sports in a fair manner, take a look at the Olympic medal count each year. We're always at the top, especially in the summer games.

Imagine if football were an international sport?

The world simply doesn't play American Football, if they did the same thing that's currently happening in the NBA would be happening in the NFL. I mean, the US NBA team is no longer dominant in the world stage.
