I doubt Terry is demanding $40M. I’d be stunned.

Von Miller? Ok let’s see what he’s got left
Bobby Wagner, Von Miller in the locker room should be fun |
Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
83 PFF pass rush grade last year which is still pretty damn good

And that's a post injury year. If he's 100% now, he probably has 1-2 good years in the tank. Let's hope he shows it, though I suspect our pass rush will be the sum of its parts not any one player excelling. All but the opposite of last year. |
Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
The one thing to point out, Terry himself has said he hasn't got the mileage or injury history to date many of his peers of a similar age have had. He could well go 6, 7 or even 8 more years. Signing him to a 3 or 4 year deal now is lower risk than, say, Metcalf's extension.
The question I ask is do they have irons in the fire on other signings and that' causing them pause? Are they still looking at Hendrickson and want to know what that outcome could be before committing to Terry? Committing to Terry and Hendrickson might leave them light for extending Daniels as well as putting weapons around him.
I believe you are correct and I believe a Terry signing is coming any day now. |

Kinda surprised by that grade! Nice Standig also posted on X that a metric like a per pass rush attempt efficiency stat that Miller was tenth in the league last year If he in there for 35% of snaps rushing the passer it probably an upgrade for us |
Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
The fact that Von Miller has 2 Super Bowl rings is nothing to scoff at all. Guy is literally a champion twice even winning Super Bowl MVP. His resume is crazy good. Highly doubt he needs the money. I don't have a problem with this signing at all and honestly like it. Hendrickson and Watt would have been way too expensive from way too many angles. Miller sees a real chance here to do something special and clearly wants to keep playing.

Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
All we need from him is to be a 3rd down/situational rusher. He’s not going to be a full time starter.

and i think he will be good in that role and add some good veteran leadership to the locker room |

Re: Commanders 2025 Offseason Thread
the above part of this - i do not see him as a typical 30 yr old wr - im not sure who does - when comes to mileage and injury history. The way he takes care of himself and works? Nah man, i cant see a down slope. Father time might be undefeated but Terry is good competition IMO
I listened to that. He did bring up some good points. My issue is sure he's still playing well now. But I assume the team is looking at it from the back end of his deal. In year 3 and 4, or even next year, 2026, what will his production be then? Chances are it's going to dip. So they can be stuck paying him a truck load of money when he's got #2 or even #3 wr production. Terry has to realize that's just how the NFL works. |

The Von Miller signing does nothing for me. Just nothing.

Would you give Connerly or Amos back for an edge rusher in those spots? Because outside of that, Von Miller (or a similar veteran) is about the best they were going to be able to do. He will probably only play 15-20 snaps per game on 3rd downs. Not jacked up for the signing or anything, but I like it. 2024 PFF: Overall Grade: 82.4 15th/211 Edge Rushers 32 pressures 6 sacks He was only 91st in pass-rush snaps, but was 42nd in sacks (ESPN has him at 50th in total sacks). That's not bad production imo. Only Luvu had more sacks for us last year (outside of Fowler). No one else was in the top 50. He also had 341 pass-rush snaps compared to 209 for Miller. |

Trey Amos signed. I bet Terry signs soon.
