I didn't.
His 40 time was what I expected so it made no difference for me either.
Not so much the people here. I just thought it was odd for people to say "go get him" after seeing his 40 time when passing is his first and foremost skill set.
He ran a 4.4 40? Who cares how he throws? Let's go get him!

/sarcasm.

/drooling while thinking about an RG3 bootleg with Helu or Royster in the backfield.

I took a look at Baylors schedule last year and I was not impressed, I am not going for the hype, I would like to see us keep our picks this year, maybe look for a Cousins/Weeden/Keenum later in the draft but do not trade down, and let the Manning drama play out.

Flame on.

Honestly my mind was changed when I saw his last couple of college games. I expected him to blow everybody away with his 40 time. Was very impressed with it, but wasn't shocked.

Yeah, lets just suck another year and have no hope of getting better. Maybe that will put us in line to get Barkley.

Why does not getting RGIII mean we will suck next year? We can only get better with some quality picks. But yeah you are right if we get RGIII we will be well on our way with our new franchise QB, as he gets broken and battered because we have no O-line. When are people gonna realize this simple point, you can put an average QB see "Mark Rypien" behind an awesome O-line and we succeed but put a "franchise qb"see "Heath Schuller behind a bad O-line and we get nothing and we still suck.

We need a real quarterback. Such as Rg3, Luck, Manning, Flynn, even Orton worst case. Getting those 2nd tier quarterback gives us a one in million chance of finding one. Mark Rypien played in a different legue. He also played on a team without a salary cap, where the Redskins were by far the highest paid team. He had one of the best offensive lines in history along with a great defense, good running backs and good recievers. Rypien was at best an average QB.
I'm sure you'd the say the same for Andrew Luck.
and yes I say the same thing about Luck. What has he done in the NFL? What has he done in the NFL that he should be called a "franchise QB"?

So the Colts pick him thinking and hoping he will be but what if he bombs? It happens more often then not.

No player taken in the draft comes with a guarantee. But you evaluate guys the best you can so you can make the best possible decision.

That is what a lot of folks miss here, it is all a GAMBLE, FA, Draft, etc...Some decisions are less risky then others but every decision has some level of risk.

Take even Indy, what if Luck comes out and sucks. Do you know how much potential draft picks or players they could have gotten for that pick? Probably a ton. Even their decision to stay at 1 is a risk.

I'd gladly take that risk.

People need to understand that we are gambling this whole regime on the QB we pick. Whether it's RG3 or some guy in the 2nd round. If the QB we pick is not good then the whole thing may get blown up in a couple years. New coaches want their own players...all these picks and players some people want to keep hoarding and building with could end up out the door if they don't fit the system of the new regime. I don't know about anyone else but i would rather risk everything we are building on a QB that most of the scouts in the NFL agree on then a later round guy that comes with mixed reviews.

The Manning thing however is a different story...if he's healthy and some prefer that route then I won't argue it because when healthy he's an all time great. I just personally prefer the RG3 route...

With RGIII, if we were to get him, I would be thrilled to get Webb from Minnesota as our backup. Personally I would like Webb regardless of our starting qb, but he would be an ideal complement to RGIII's style, and if/when RGIII went down, I don't think we would miss a beat.

In fantasy/Madden thinking, could you imagine a Wildcat formation involving RGIII/Webb/Davis/Helu. should be fun drawing up plays at least!
