Guys we are playing the best offense in football. Special teams needs to p lay better and make am adjustment to Riley on Matthews

Re: Skins vs Eagles - Gameday Thread

Riley obviously isn't the greatest cover linebacker, Haslett should've adjusted after the first td to Matthews and not called any more red zone plays where he's matched up on Riley. Exploiting a d's weaknesses is football 101. It's also embarrassing watching this team dominate in TOP yet still be losing at the half. My first thought is we need to keep the Eagles offense off the field in the second half but we did that in the first half and we're still losing.

This. The Eagles are a good enough team, they don't need any freebie td's on special teams. We already gifted them one in the first half, we better straighten up for the second half.
folks, D will adjust. O time of possession will wear on Eagles average D.

Game is 60 minutes long. Let's just hold.

(He says, jinxing any chance of a win.)
I do think Haslett has done good half time adjustments against Philly. That said, they get the ball first...

When are the Skins going to get serious about special teams? Give up yet another TD, and short kickoffs leading to solid Philly field position. That is the difference in the game so far.

I don't care about the "best offense in football" crap...

Eagles have touched the ball 4 times, scoring 3 TOUCHDOWNS (NOT field goals), and the only non touchdown was because of a fortunate fumble on the 12 YARD LINE.

They have 21 points on 7 minutes of possession.

No matter what you say... Our defense has been ATROCIOUS. Period.... And will lose this game. We will allow 45 plus today.

A year ago, with huge expectations we got absolutely smashed by the Eagles. Does anyone disagree that this is a huge improvement over that?

The doomsayers need to cool it a little bit. This is perhaps the best looking Redskins offense we've seen in years. With just a little more from the D and STs we can handle these guys. And there's just no secondary that will look great when there's no pass rush. Going in, pass rush was way down on the list of my concerns, goes to show what I know!

I've seen a lot of Murphy on the field. Is he starting over Orakpo?

Finally some pass rush and the play doesn't count.
