Re: Food Vices
I wish all calories and macro-nutrients were created equal. Went to the grocery store tonight and was craving macaroni and cheese. A box of M&C is only $0.85. In 2024, that's wild. And one box of M&C is enough calories for a whole day. Unfortunately, the shit is terrible for you, and you would not be doing well if you ate a box every day.
If it wasn't absolutely terrible for you, you could live of M&C for $27.00/month (per person). That's the world I want to live in, where food costs are $27.00/month. |
Re: Food Vices
Pizza, I've been getting into making my dough from scratch. It takes time to perfect but I'm getting pretty good. Even the water you use can make a difference. I switched from tap water to a bottle water and saw a difference.

Re: Food Vices
Peanut butter. Eat it way too much. So delicious and fairly low in carbs. Can add up the calories quickly though. PB is one of my many food vices lol

Buy the big jar of creamy. My family and I go through a ton of this. Honestly think it's better than the name brand stuff. |
Re: Food Vices
I'm trying to eat healthier so instead of chips/other processed foods for snacks I switched to celery and peanut butter. Celery tastes like ass on its' own but the PB makes it tolerable.

to each is own and its probably great PB, but once you start just eating natural PB the other stuff taste off its because they either add vegetable oil or palm oil too it |
Re: Food Vices
freshly ground peanut butter using honey roasted peanuts, pure heaven

Re: Food Vices
So anyone been affected by this deli meat recall? I don't eat it all the time but I like a good sandwich now and then, my local Grocery Stores (Giant,Foodlion and Safeway) have been bare for a good two weeks now.

Re: Food Vices
Someone on another board mentioned vanilla milkshakes. There is a McDonald's up the road on my way to work and I haven't had one of those in a long time. Then I checked the sugar content, over 60 grams for a medium which is a ton. I'm committed to keeping the sugar down and with it the weight loss so I'm settling for 1/2 cup of a hot chocolate.

Celery is just god awful. What’s up with that stringy bullshit in there? It’s worth a time travel, terminator-type mission to go knock off the person responsible for gardening that shit. Maybe include the water chestnut mutherfucker too. I have threatened Chinese food places over those. |

If I ever get that from hot sauce, I'll live off of protein shakes and be a lot healthier lol. I'm addicted to spicy food. Most foods don't taste very good to me without hot sauce. |

Going on a Friday - Sunday overnight(s) hike March 21 - 23 in the NC mountains. Last year I was way too heavy and completely out of shape. Shocked I made it. On a diet until at least then, so looking for different snack options that have some good protein. These things are amazing:

It’s a goo you swallow after big meals and at bedtime. My ENT recommended it and said I could probably go back to coffee, chocolate, and other bad stuff. Still taking Famotidine, but that and the flavored goo seem to do a pretty good job on reflux. Giving up coffee and alcohol isn’t happening for me, though I find I drink less and gummie more in my advancing years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This flavor above is good. Check out nacho cheese and cheddar and sour cream also. Chips aren't cheap but perfect for high protein/low carb. |

I've been on a pizza kick. Started making my own from scratch and I have become a pretty good pizza maker. I can make my own dough but I will also buy it from Harris Teeter.

Chicken thighs in the air fryer for the W
Teriyaki sauce has always been fine to me. But not something I'd generally pick out if I had a craving for a random meal that's not in the normal rotation. But this sauce is absolutely phenomenal. Best teriyaki I've had and you can buy it at the grocery store. Chicken thighs with this sauce is the chef's kiss: House of Tsang Korean Teriyaki Stir-Fry Sauce |
Re: Food Vices
Bought a cast-iron pan and reverse seared some steaks. Came out pretty damn good for my 1st time.
