Re: Fred Davis Done for Season. Welcome Back Cooley
Back on topic...I'm seriously psyched to see Cooley back on the field. One of my favorite Skins of the last decade, and I reckon he'll play with a big chip on his shoulder. Not sure who said he wasn't in shape, but that would kinda contradict what he's been doing right? Staying close to Redskins Park, waiting for the opportunity to play again....I would think he's in stellar shape and will just have to ease into the game speed. He should be full go after the bye at least :)
Because that would be unreasonable. The Morris and Tana fumbles had nothing to do with play-calling. The INT and RG3 fumble had everything to do with play-calling. The defense read both plays before the ball was snapped.
No OC calls the perfect play every down, but when you see myriad blown plays every game because the defense knows what's up before Kyle does we're not going to consistently score points and win games.
We've run that play to Davis plenty of times this year. Doesn't matter if the defense reads it if you execute it. RG3 forced the throw. In the end this is a pointless discussion. The offense isn't the problem this year. |
Are you talking about the INT where Paulsen and RG3 had a miscommunication? The play where 10 out of 10 times it would be Fred Davis on that play?
Yep. Kyle had called it 3 or 4 times earlier in the game and the defense was ready for it. Looked very clearly like the defender was sitting back and jumped the route for the INT. Another frustration is how easy Kyle makes it for the defense to jump routes because his formations/routes don't stretch the field. And Davis was the target 4 out of 5 times. Not sure why the defense wouldn't have read the play regardless of who was targeted, except that if Davis was there for the 5th time you'd think EVERYBODY would expect it. |
Yes. Jon Gruden is coming in and we're trading for Jay Cutler AND Brandon Marshall.
Welcome to The Warpath.
I sense a hint of sarcasm, monkeydad lol. |

Re: Fred Davis Done for Season. Welcome Back Cooley
I don't understand why people can't separate these two concepts: "the offense not having the best game against the Giants" and the "overall state of the offense". In the game against the Giants, the offense did not perform as good as they previously have, but just because of this bad game happened doesn't mean that the offense is in the dumps and Kyle should be fired. Whoever thinks this needs to get their head checked.

Re: Fred Davis Done for Season. Welcome Back Cooley
RG3 made a bad decision on the INT and couldn't keep a handle on the ball on his fumble. Can't just blame Kyle for everything. The players still have to execute. Why not just blame Kyle for the Morris fumble while we're at it?
Did you know Kyle was responsible for: - Global warming, - negative adds in politics, - the repression of Arab rebels in Syria, and - the failure to use "whom" when appropriate. The only reason he even exists is b/c of his Dad. Why if Mike Shanahan had never existed, no one would have even heard of Kyle. <sigh> I hate Mondays on the Warpath after a loss. |

Hall and Reed Doughty take offense to this post, everyone knows they are the cause of all the problems. |

Yes, you're right. Chris Cooley is a Redskin 4 life. I'm thrilled to see him back on the team as well. Since he already knows the offense I hope he's atop the depth chart and ready to start for us. |

I dont think he will be ahead of Pauleson who was great Sunday, but good lord Niles Paul looks like a lost cause everywhere cept special teams. |

Did you watch the play? Jumping a route is either undercutting it or making the cut better than the receiver. The guy who intercepted was the safety behind the play. No body jumped the route on the int. RG3 double pumped it and never should have released it. That ball was complete if Paulsen doesnt stop his route. It was a mis-communication between a TE and QB who dont normally play a lot together. As far as the defender sitting back, what you mean is he was playing safety. And last I checked, every safety in the league plays safety, except M. Williams apparently. |
Re: Fred Davis Done for Season. Welcome Back Cooley
Cooley never could run.
What he does is catch. And get chicks. |
