Meanwhile group hugging...over 75% of mutual funds(most of the countries 401ks) are down and bankers are still managing record bonuses. usually when my company performs poorly, I dont get a bonus, like most people. So it makes sense right? Baby boomers are struggling to retire, but Wall Street bankers get record bonuses? Guess we dont deserve an explination. Meanwhile Exxon doing great DIRECTLY because of higher prices at the pump: Exxon Mobil Profit Tops $10 Billion on Crude Oil Price Surge - Businessweek i guess its easier just to blame obama |
Re: 'Occupy' types
i agree with chico, but most people dont know what to do about it. record amounts of money being made by the top 1%, while the middle to lower classes are really struggling.

This is not a job for the federal gov. its time for the investors, stock holders, and employees to stand their ground and say enough is enough. I also find it funny how the left has igniored the profits of the oil companies now that Obama is in office. |

You won't get a peep from the stock holders. The big time stock holders are the guys who are in the 1%, and not the middle class families. Also, you won't have any of the employees stand their ground because they are making money so they'll continue being the "yes man" for their respective companies. Again, nobody wants to make a stand until it starts affecting them. Then they want the world to rally around them, but by then it's too late. Did you expect the left to do something about oil prices?...lol They are getting hand outs just like the right. The right are just more open about their intentions and who they serve. You can tell it in their wants to deregulate and to lower taxes for corporations. They ALL serve big businesses and hence why I want corporate campaign donations to become illegal and come with a huge penalty. Bribing the government is much worse (outcome wise) than some guy selling pot on the street corner. |

This is more than a downward spiral. So when things are good people dont need to be accountable? This is exactly what got the country into trouble. Knowing actual bankers in the industry who work in major and very old investment companies,...you'd be shocked. But just look what has happend in the last 10 years, Enrron, Lehman, Madoff, etc. very public stuff, if you look at what happened. Its quite grotesque. |
Re: 'Occupy' types
saw the baltimore occupy people just starting a march this afternoon as i drive by. the group leading them was carrying this black box sorta thing which kinda looked like the convenant thing in indiana jones movie but i was driving in the opposite direction and it was hard to tell.
they actually had about 100 people or so and organizers wearing yellow pull over things. on the weekends they do a good job. i swear, on a tuesday or wednesday night they might have 30 or so tents up but less than 10 people actually sleeping out there. |
Re: 'Occupy' types
I drove by Occupy Richmond Sunday. Then i heard this morning on the way to work (why i am unable to attend the protests) that they got "evicted" at 1am this morning.
Im wondering if theyll start occupying their homes:
"Occupy doesn't have to be in a set location. The location of this doesn't matter; it's all in the heart."
Police erase Occupy Richmond tent site - CBS News The Richmond group is on public property (not like NYC) so they are susposed to have a permit. Late last week a report came out that the Tea Party was charged 8k for the protests that they held at the exact same park. The double standard pissed a lot of people off and i think is probably the main reason the cleaned out the Richmond park this morning.
Were Occupy Richmond paying for such a permit, the expense would be running a tab close to $11,000. “We feel it is unjust that the city would have preferable treatment for the ‘Occupiers,’” Wilkerson said. He emphasized that they “have no beef with the ‘Occupiers,’ but that, their “problem is that there is preferable treatment when it comes to the Tea Party.” “We have to dot every ‘i’and cross every ‘t,’” he added. “The law should apply for everyone.” Wilkerson pointed out that the Tea Party were only there in the day time whereas the protesters have been there 24 hours a day, going on two weeks now. Additionally, Wilkerson noted that they had to pay for their port-o-potties while Occupy Richmond was given theirs for free. “It is an expense for the taxpayers of the city also that is being incurred.” They asked for their money back because they think it is “fair and just.” “The people look to the government to be fair to everybody,” Wilkerson said.
It looks like a couple more rapes may have happened. A rape may have been the reason the riot in Oakland started last night. Another rape was reported in Occupy Glasgow in the UK (not sure if oversea rapes count).
So far we have reported rapes in: Occupy Cleveland Occupy Dallas (statutory, 14 year old) Occupy Oakland Occupy Glasgow and a serial flasher at Occupy Seattle And probably most disturbing of all the Occupy Baltimore leaders (watch out OTM!) are handing out pamphlets that discourage rape victims from reporting rapes to the police .... wow. In Occupy Cincinnati they staged a corporate rape the other day: 11 Occupy Cincinnati protesters arrested on Fountain Square | Cincinnati.com | cincinnati.com Of course everyone knows that in Ray Lewis type fashion Vice President Biden recently said that if Obama's job's bill is not passed murders and rapes will increase. I guess most people living at OWS sites dont have jobs so perhaps Biden is right in his line of thinking? Pervert! Get the f--k out!” said vigilante Occupiers, who never bothered to call the cops. “They were shining flashlights in his face and yelling at him to leave,” said a woman who called herself Leslie, but refused to give her real name. She said that weeks earlier another woman was raped. “We don’t tell anyone,” she said. “We handle it internally. I said too much already.” Read more: Snow, “sexual assaults’’ won’t deter Wall Street haters; protest ends when “sun dies’’ - NYPOST.com |

I don't think there were any "420" tents (or any tents for that matter) at the Tea Party rallies.

Its not like they have been denied the right to protest but you do have to follow rules/laws (well it seems this group does not care about laws). |
