Almonds.
I even buy the unsalted ones, and they're really healthy in the right quantity, but I can eat these things like chips.
I hear you, almonds are a great snack but have you measured out a serving size? I can eat half a big bag without thinking about it. I loved the smoked ones. |
Re: Food Vices
Turkey meatballs in air fryer. Reasonably healthy protein punch with a a nice crisp on the edges.

My smallest little tupperware container that is really small, and it's still only half that for a serving. I'm going to have to use that to portion control. Can't go straight from the package. |

Anyone ever try just drinking olive oil directly?

Their blenders are nice, I'm assuming that works well too. That looks pretty similar to mine. Going to try air frying salmon tonight. Air fryers are fun science experiments. |
Re: Food Vices
These shakes are money, especially this flavor. So easy to drink. You can chug one of these in 15 seconds, get 30 grams of protein, and a 1/4th or more of your daily servings of quite a few vitamins. Strong recommend if trying to find a way to cut calories and get some actual sustenance.

I wish breaded chicken tenders were healthy. Even the frozen ones are money when put into the air fryer. Crushed some buffalo flavored ones last night.

i do shake and bake and air fry, its the oil frying that really makes traditional breaded chicken unhealthy not necessarily the breading |
Re: Food Vices
I bought myself a little 2-glass old fashioned set, that comes with the 2 molds to make big sphere ice cubes. I love these things. I'm gonna start drinking less beer.
Anyone have a recommendation for a middle-ground bourbon (non-flavored)? |

Re: Food Vices
Ribs
Keep your baby back or beef, I’m talking St. Louis spare pork ribs. On the smoker with spicy sweet natural rub, finished in butter…I probably can take down a single rack in a sitting. I love bbq, but ribs done right is next level. If I’m picking last meal, I’m including a quarter rack In between my dozen shucked oysters on the half shell, fresh caught blackened tuna steak. |
Re: Food Vices
Outside of fish tacos in Hawaii, this is the best piece of fish I've ever had. Thaw it out overnight in the fridge, then air fry it for 10 minutes, top it off with a little hot sauce, amazing.
where did you get that fish?
for the record air fryers are just convection ovens we have always had them, its all marketing
Lowes Foods and Harris Teeters both have them here, so I'm assuming your local grocery store likely has them in the frozen section somewhere. Convection oven/air-fryer, whatever, I love marketing then, because these things are little game changers. |

Mediterranean grill, great flavors. Best part they know how to get rice perfect. |
Re: Food Vices
Red pepper flakes are the key to vegetables tasting like money. Bake broccoli or green beans in the oven with some seasoning and pepper flakes, and I can eat those things like healthy chips.

Flatiron Pepper Co A little pricey but worth every Penney
I'll definitely check it out. Spice and heat are worthy investments. I basically put some form of one or both on everything cooked that I eat. Note - I was literally just at the grocery store buying another one of the McCormick ones before I saw this post. Lame lol. Saved the link to my favorites. I'll order one of their bundles once I start running low. |

It's official, French Beans are my favorite vegetable.
France has great yogurt, beans, and Redskins/WFT/Commanders fans. |

Re: Food Vices
I should put this in the gears grinding thread but fuck it. You know what I hate? When you watch a video on Instagram/FB/etc. with some delicious looking recipe in it (smashburgers/steak sandwiches/tacos/etc.) but they don't tell you the actual recipe, you gotta search the description. Then the description sends you to their website to find the recipe, so you click the link and then you can't even find the recipe because they want you to pay to subscribe to their website or buy their recipe book or some other shit. I hate that shit.

Potato salad. Haven't always liked it all that much, but I've been on a little kick recentlty. The local grocery store makes a good one. Wish it was good for you.

Re: Food Vices
Ok I’m switching to a keurig, what’s best coffee pods
the main problem with pods is the lack of freshness with the coffee, often it's sitting on store shelves for months before you buy them. this place claims to ship you fresh pods, might be worth a try https://angelinos.com |
