Re: 2019 mlb
Well Nationals can give DC something to indeed cheer about!
I went. Huge turnout, felt similar to the Caps last year. Good to see DC unite for something.
I was trying to but my wife kept making excuses like "The mortgage is due" and "it's a 4 hour drive" |

Re: 2019 mlb
Tbh I don't watch a lot of baseball.
But I'd watch a ton of it right now. I miss sports :( |
Re: 2019 mlb
Baseball seems to be stalled out at the negotiating table. The higher paid players taking bigger pay cuts percentage wise is not flying. Not a good look considering the shape the country is in right now, especially high paid pitchers. Max Sherzer of the Nationals rejects making as "little" as $5.5 mil working one day a week of a shortened season. I guess he doesn't understand while baseball has great TV deals those fans in the seats pay some bills. I suppose he thinks owners should lose a lot of money.

Re: 2019 mlb
I miss baseball. I cannot believe how shitty negotiations are going. Players have to realize that even if they are right compared to owners they are the ones that will lose in the public eye.
|
Re: 2019 mlb
All the owners are filthy rich. Not all the players are. Owners definitely have the upper hand right now.

Re: MLB thread
My magic 8 ball says this is not looking good. I understand the players side saying the agreement reached in March for the season should be followed but the reality is the players are going to be hurt by this more than the owners. I am not aware of a single owner whose income is from their sports team ownership. I could also see this having impacts on fan viewership for the future.

Re: MLB thread
When the NBA and NHL are back and MLB is sitting on the sidelines it's going to be a very bad look for them

Re: MLB thread
The latter is true. In March they agreed to a prorated salary but MLB is saying that the terms of proration are negotiable

The whole thing is a mess right now, and at the moment it looks like there won't be a 2020 MLB season. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk |
