NFL Denies Suh's Appeal

Down right mystifying unless they plan to franchise him. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 13
Last time the Eagles had a "pissing contest" going with a player they hung a franchis tag on but who wanted a long term deal or nothing, Danny Boy bailed them out. The player was Jeremiah Trotter. Danny Boy game him a long term deal with the signing money he wanted - - and then Trotter went back to Philly for about a year and a half after the Skins cut him. Since he had Danny Boy's money in the bank and no longer had the leverage to get a big money deal anywhere else, he went back to Philly for MUCH less than they had offered him in the first place.
Wonder if that could happen again...? Presumably, Shanahan/Allen know of that history. |

It's usually in their best interest to wait it out so they avoid the winner's curse. Circumstances beyond their control could happen in the remaining weeks of the season that could affect negotiations, such as freak injuries and whatever else could happen. |

I wouldn't call it a big contract.. It basically let us let him go whenever we wanted to |

If you just took a glance at the numbers it would appear that way, but upon further inspection you'd realize it was structured so that if the team got rid of McNabb after the season they'd suffer minimal losses to the cap. Which is exactly what happened. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 13
If you just look at the McNabb extension as what we gave up ($3.5 million in bonus money) vs. what we got (a 6th round pick), I think we broke even on it.
