Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
I don't see any downside to this for Shanahan and the Redskins.
For one, Shanny's endearing the team and fans to himself by doing this. Secondly, Albert has zero room to stomp off the field and risk being suspended or fined, but on the other hand Albert can start rehabing his image by playing along and showing he's willing to do what it takes. As far as the so called media circus and this being a distraction, eh..I don't think Shanahan cares a hill of beans about that. He's mroe concerned about the guys inside the locker room, not the ones outside the locker room. |

so you just let him off of the requirement? |

RT @RedskinsDotCom Albert is working in weight room during Fri. practice...Running on treadmill alongside conditioning coach Ray Wright.[/quote] Angry got you beat by about 45 mins on that one haha |
Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
I tell you what's childish and unprofessional, taking a direct deposit for $21 million, taking your fat ass home, and about a month later skip mandatory workouts, then request a trade because you don't want to play nose tackle. Now that's childish and unprofessional if you ask me.
Oh, I heard Haynesworth rolls up to practice in his Bentley yesterday. Real classy. |

I wish there was a way for this saga to quickly be resolved so we can concentrate more on what's really important. |
Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
I maintain that Haynesworth is getting exactly what he wants at the moment. He doesn't have to kill himself in camp, and ultimately, he's trying to force a trade. Even at his best in Tennessee, he was notorious for taking plays off. We were fool enough to buy his line that he wanted to be compared to Reggie White after we signed him. Albert Haynesworth will NEVER approach Reggie White's greatness, and it's an insult to White's memory to even mention the two in any comparison.

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
It's not a downer at all. It gets me excited. The players(minus DeAngelo) have come out against Al. The fans have come out against Al. And we finally have a coach with a set that is willing to hold his fat ass to the fire.
Al is a martyr to the lazy, and who the hell is going to cry over his lazy, spoiled ass getting a little shit in his face? I think most of us fully support MS with this effort. Other than his normally scheduled pressers every day, how is this a distraction. Practice goes on. The team is getting better. |

I could understand that, and if it continues too long, I would agree. But one or two or 4 days of being in the doghouse because he didn't work out with the team isn't going to kill this team. Also, I don't think it's overshadowing the on field work yet so for now, it's all good. |

Yeah it is unfortunate but it has to be dealt with, not ignored. It's far more important that the right tone is set within the locker room from the get. Come week 8 or 9 no one will be discussing Albert failing 300 yard wind sprints, but if Shanahan doesn't right the ship here and now, it won't matter much what happens that late in the season. Football is as much mental and emotional as it is physical. I think Shanahan is taking the right approach, given the hand that was dealt to him and could have been avoided, and I support him 110%. |

Agreed, it's a bigger story to the fans more than anything. On the field it's business as usual. |

Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test
We all would. But like I said, all of this could have been avoided had Al been upfront and honest about things. He forced Shanahan's hand in this situation, not the the other way around.
This too will pass and the Redskins will be a better team for it. |

Here's to hoping.
