Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Not even going to bother trying to include it in this post, because it won't work. But Jayden has a 55 minute 2024 season highlight film available on YouTube. That's a long ass time. What a baller.
I know a lot of people were saying Lamar Jackson 2.0, I don't see that but what I do see if a faster version of Texans Deshaun Watson or Randall Cunningham
Looking back at this I'd say he's more Lamar but a better passer. He's really his own Comp |

I can't help feeling a little sorry for AP. his 1st draft pick is likely to be the best pick he'll ever make! Maybe one day considered the best ever?

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
I wish you could buyout rookie contract years in football like you can buyout arbitration years in baseball. I'd definitely offer him 7 years for 385 million to lock him in. I used Josh Allen's contact and just added 1 more year at the same rate. Add another million to each season, I'd do it for 7 years and 392 million too.

He's more Lamar than originally thought but I still like the Faster more accurate Randall Like 65% Randall 35% Lamar = 100% Jayden |

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Today’s injury was in the pocket after a terrible fumble
Weirdly Marcus has seemed faster then him this season |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Worry about Jayden when it’s time to resign him. You think the Bengals aren’t starting to regret giving Burrow all that money; when he’s been injury prone.
Let’s see how Jayden does. |

Let’s see how Jayden does.
Exactly. We have a lot bigger problems right now than JD5's 2nd contract. Let's worry about that at that point. Love the kid but this year hasn't been near as good as 2024. |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Also, I don’t get this ; you must win during the rookie contract?
When you have to pay the qb; does that mean you stop winning? No for the good teams. Chiefs, Eagles won titles after paying their qb. Bills and Ravens (this year aside) won after paying their qb. |

Jesus, when does it stop? Shaping up to look very much like another young ‘Skins QB. Ugh. |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
It’s always he is fine , he wanted to go back in , gave a thumbs up coming out of the blue tent blah blah
Now out , we shall see for how many weeks Availability is the BEST Ability More and more JD5 looks like he can’t stay on the field |

He's injury prone. He will always have something wrong. We are fucking cursed.

i am really not trying to go down thta road, but man look at his three injuries ,rib, knee, and hamstring, none came from some big hits unfortunatly the whole he is to thin argument is starting to win out ,=( |

This whole season is going to shit. So hopefully this is just an outlier season where everything goes wrong for him and everyone else. But, definitely worrisome. Ugh! |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
So are we going to have the honest discussion about JD5 not having the frame to take hits in the NFL?
So it’s a proven fact at this point his body can’t hold up. So can we structure the offense that removes QB runs and builds a solid run game that takes the pressure off him? This isn’t working for him or us. |

He simply needs to throw the ball away if it isn't there. He takes unnecessary hits (like last night) that he doesn't need to. His frame is way too small to last. |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Nobody’s elbow is going to survive getting bent like that, have to look at each injury on its own.

Agreed. Im not ready to call him injury prone, but I would say save the passion and the determination for games that you are still in. Especially if the HC is too dense to know when to get your star quarterback out. Quinn is a dope. |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
I'm not quite ready to call JD injury prone. Way too early in his career. But they have got to learn how to manage him better. Down 30 in the 4th q I don't see the need for him to be out there. But I'm also tired of all the running. This isn't college. They do it w/ Mariota too. Part of it is on the QB'S but also there are too many designed runs. I'm out on Kliff's offense. I hate it.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Fellas, his injuries have been due to contact.
The offense, style of play and strategy has to change period. |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Nobody’s elbow is going to survive getting bent like that, have to look at each injury on its own.
Sure, but there was no reason for him to even absorb that tackle. He needs to just fucking throw the ball away if it's not there. Period. |
Sure, but there was no reason for him to even absorb that tackle. He needs to just fucking throw the ball away if it's not there. Period.
Agree. If he can master the skill of running safely and wisely and develop the skill of being pure pocket passer consistently would work great. Darnold embodied this quite well last night have to say. Tough call on JD5. Imagine he'll get next year for sure but he's got to learn to absorb less hits. It seems like most NFL qbs that run a lot don't last long. Merciless league. Not done with thinking JD5 is done, but this year has been alarming.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Kurt Warner
@kurt13warner Was just finishing up my tape for week with the Commanders & it is really amazing the difference in JDaniels in year 2! We often talk about sophomore slumps & they can definitely be real with teams having a better idea of how to stop you or your O & forcing you beyond your #1 more and more often. The hard part is it just doesn’t seem like JD is seeing the field like he did last year… holding ball… seemingly looking & not throwing to open #1 read… struggling to work through reads! Another example of this game being tough & guys on the other side get paid also… but it’s a bummer bc he was so incredible last season! |
Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Maybe having no WRs and missing a bunch of reps in practice and games due to injuries has something to do with it? Plus likely playing at less than 100% when on the field.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Jayden Daniels is the best thing that has happened to this franchise since Joe Gibbs.
Yes, he needs to get better at avoiding contact. Also yes, we can definitely win a Super Bowl with him as our QB with a good supporting cast. Just put Jayden and Terry on the season ending list, and try again next year. We are very likely to be picking Top 10 next draft. Impact player or trade-down (I prefer a trade-down this year, but wouldn't be upset with adding a Top-10 player). |

Ridiculous. Every QB misses stuff. He was under pressure on 55% of his drop backs. Pass pro sucked, guys consistently weren’t open, no running game, but Warner wants to go with the sophomore slump narrative. I hate shit like this. |

We made it to the NFC Championship with Jayden. He had this same (basic) supporting cast, but they were healthy. Don't risk injury to any of our important pieces (Jayden, Terry, etc.). If someone is vital to next year and they get banged up, sit em' down. Let the young players sink or swim. They will either grow or show they don't fit, and they will get us a better draft pick along they way. And resign Deebo if we can for a reasonable rate. The fit was right, but Deebo can't be option 1. Next year, concentrate on getting younger. No more band-aids in their 30s. And stop hating on Terry. Everyone's reactions to his injuries are proof he made the right decision for himself. If he has signed immediately for whatever the team offered, everyone would still be turning on him for being injured. Terry has been a great player and a great teammate. When we got rid of Snyder, we hopefully solved the toxic ownership problem. Now if we could work on the toxic fan problem, maybe we could get back to being as fun to follow as we were in the 90's. |
