Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
Just curious. How many Redskins fans on this board are planning on not watching and/or not rooting for the Redskins in Week 1 because they feel McNabb didn't get a fair chance? If you are truly rooting for McNabb, go watch the Vikings. See if he gets a fair shot there instead.
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
Go watch the Vikings?? Yeah right, Ive been a diehard longer then any of homotional lames. Fact is, we gave up a 2nd round pick for NOTHIN, I dont give a rats azz about McNabb. But it's retarded to expect the man to be great in one season surrounded by the garbage ass players he was surrounded by. If we gave up a 4th or lower, oh well....but a second round pick is bonafied starter, a starter more then likely we gave to the Eagles, a division rival...
I agree we should sign a few more guys on the lines, and we probably will, but when looking at Cofield, Bowen, and Chester- there's a good chance all 3 of them are week 1 starters. Bringing in 3 new starters isnt exactly neglecting trench warfare.
Are they starters out of need or starters because that is their quality of play? In Cofield's case, he's a no-doubt starter to me in any scheme: I just hope he finds a spot in the 30 front to justify that contract.
Bowen and Chester are more "either way" kind of players. I know they are unquestioned starters on this team. I hope they play like guys who would start on the other 31 teams as well, because that is what they are getting paid like. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
So if Shanny is unhappy with his work ethic in year one... it makes perfect sense to keep him around a second year because everyone works harder in his second year... right? Ya, it was a mistake. They regret making the move. But they're smart enough to not to keep making the same mistake. You only get one chance to prove you're a hard worker.

What is this a pissing contest? We're on the internet, we're all diehards here. How long you've been one doesn't matter. Why are you still so upset about the past? It's over and done with, move on. Focus on the team that we have at the present. Are you still upset over giving Miami a 2nd rounder for a 1 year Jason Taylor rental too? I get it, obviously it was a bad move. But McNabb doesn't play here anymore, so it's in the past. Why worry about a guy who is going to have no impact on the team you root for? |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
I think it came down to his perceived work ethic... Shanahan had seen enough...
This. The perception is that DMac would have been given time to learn the new system if he had shown interest in doing so. |

I loathe mcnabb almost as much as I do haynesworth. Haynesworth was an open turd. Mcnabb was also a turd... But a two-faced one: publically a posterboy but privately a selfish egotistical lazy turd. I'm glad hes gone. |
I dont know, probably not, it was just that they came to the conclusion so quick and straight up destroyed him in the media. I was just like, there was no way the FO could get any kind of intel on McNabb before pulling the trigger for a 2nd round pick? We couldnt find out that he moved slow in between plays or that he had a tendency to throw ducks or passes towards the ground? All the stuff they did not like, everyone around league knew. Fans included. And if we were gonna give away that high of a pick, why not keep him at least a second year, even if we didnt start him. I dont know, I just felt like how I felt with the whole Jason Taylor situation..... |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
Yea, I'm still mad we traded away Mike Oliphant.

No pissing contest at all....And Im not worried about McNabb...never was (He's an Eagle and always will be)...I'AM worried that we just threw away a 2nd round pick for nothin. And that I never could understand how all these fans and analyst threw him under the bus when he played with such a garbage supporting cast. That's all I was sayin...yall are the ones telling people to go watch the Vikings, just because we're voicing our opinions....you say that we're all die hard fans, then you shouldnt be surprised when a die hard fan gets pissed if they're told they should watch another team. Yeah right, I live and breath Redskins, all day everyday. |

Quick word of advice- It's not really good form to join a board like this and start bashing the members before you even get to 30 posts. |

Our coach? Aren't you a skins fan? If so, then he's YOUR defacto coach as well. I don't think you are seeing ANYBODY saying Rex is the answer and he's going to lead us the promise land. I think most people who are in favor of Rex starting see him as a stop gap until we can draft and groom a QB of our own. |

That was NOT a catchable pass at all. He barely got one hand on it. His off hand never even got to touch it. |

I defer to Troy Aikman on all things QB. So when he says that McNabb was at fault I believe him. The 'you touch it you catch rule' is very outdated and I've seen more and more coaches and analyst back off it. Still I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to work very hard to find other examples. That was just the most recent one on my mind since I saw it while working on a video for Torain in that same game today. I mean how many times did Armstrong alone have to adjust on deep balls after being wide open in the deep zones? |

That was a completely catch able ball. It was FAR from perfect pass, but Fred Davis shouldve caught that pass....he miss judged it (because it was a badly thrown ball), but he readjusted to the pass and he missed it. Any football coach will tell you, if the ball hits your hand (s) you are suppose to catch it.... |

I suggest you watch :37-:39. It's very obvious only one hand gets on the ball. His left hand never touches it. |
Yeah, and your friend Troy is infamously known for being EXTREMELY biased towards the Redskins whenever he calls our games. Nothin he says regarding the Skins (when he's calling our games) holds weight. As far as Im concerned, he said that just to sh-t on the most important position on the team.... |

Go back to ES man. You'll probably have better luck there finding someone willing to undertake your style of debate. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3
It hit him in the hands after he turned around when the ball should've met him in stride. If John Beck does that EVERYONE will go bat shit but Mcnabb does it and it's ok. Come on now, the dude was cool here but for what this team needs and what the goals are right now he does not fit. We are in a rebuilding situation right now, he wanted to leave. His agent made sure to paint Shannahan out to be Willie Lynch so Donovan's deficiencies could be ignored. Was it a perfect situation ? No, but we knew what this team was. He knew when he signed the contract, a man who cannot get along with his coaches and who was in such a horrible situation probably wouldn't sign. He did so things couldn't have been that bad. He's gone, **** him and **** Fletcher Smith. I wish him whatever he gets in Minnesota, and when we play the Vikings I'll root for my Skins to make him and his fans start with the excuses.
Can we move on to THIS team and not a dude that stopped in for a beer and left ? |
