Winslow and Taylor lined up against each other five days a week. They are used to going against each other. The difference will be that Kellen has to get through Arrington, Barrow and Washington before he has to deal with Taylor.
god i hope the cowboys suck next year
Man I hope that EVERY year.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 08:25 PM

I guess Winslow hasnt fixed his attitude problem, if the first thing he did was trash talk the Skins and Gibbs...its a shame to that now I have to have Taylor and Lavar sandwich him

Ghost 04-24-2004 09:46 PM

This is a hell of a thread, a recordbreaker maybe.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 10:13 PM

yea its huge, I thought it would get longer becuase I thougth we would try to make a trade...looks like a big no though. Randy Starks was a steal in the third round. Im glad that we didnt trade Gardner, I was hoping we get something for Trotter, mabye we will still get a 4th or 5th for him. We'll see who else we get in free agency

Dave Butz Baby! 04-24-2004 10:24 PM

Holy Crap.. we just traded with the Bengals somehow and picked up Chris Cooley, TE Utah State.

Sweet!

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 10:28 PM

whatd we give up, looks like Gibbs might have found his guy.

Ghost 04-24-2004 10:42 PM

I'm getting tired of that Coors Lite commercial with the unconscious dude and all the hot chicks. Why do they have to show the same things over and over? Can't they mix it up a little?

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 10:43 PM

haha, my girlfriend keeps gettign mad because shes tired of seeing that commericla. So I agree, its getting old.

Ghost 04-24-2004 10:44 PM

Wasn't Chris Cooley on the short list of draft prospects who came to Redskin Park? This was all part of Gibbs' plan, I think.

SKINSnCANES 04-24-2004 10:47 PM

it looks like it was a target, we probably took him earlier then he would have gone otherwise, but if Gibbs thinks he could be his man then ill trust him.

Cush 04-24-2004 10:54 PM
Wasn't Chris Cooley on the short list of draft prospects who came to Redskin Park? This was all part of Gibbs' plan, I think
Yeah, someone on another board said he had a private workout with the team.

Cush 04-24-2004 11:27 PM

Atlanta took Matt Schuab? WHy? They have Vick. From a UVA fans point of view, this sucks.

JoeRedskin 04-25-2004 01:24 AM

Didn't you know? Their GM is a VTech alum. He wanted to make sure no UVA QB ever got a starting assigment in the league and takes particular pleasure in putting Shaub behind a VTech QB. Face it, UVA just ain't got the stuff. :joke:

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 02:35 AM
Yeah, someone on another board said he had a private workout with the team.
i had put up a post about him after i'd read a story on the washington post where gibbs had mentioned cooley by name being able to draft somewhere in the 3rd to 4th round range. i hope it was worth our 2nd round pick next year though. that's all i'm worried about.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 02:38 AM
Atlanta took Matt Schuab? WHy? They have Vick. From a UVA fans point of view, this sucks.
let's face it, schaub wasn't gonna get any chances to be a starting qb anytime soon and with vick not really being a qb who can take a lot of hits, they wanted someone with good accuracy and football smarts to be his backup. sure I'd have preferred he had a chance to go to a team where he'd have the opportunity to play in a couple years, but it's not like he's going to a bad team.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 02:49 AM
Gamble is slow, I guess they wanted teh speed and will coach the rest.
plus he's very raw in talent.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 03:00 AM

I think the cowboys easily had the worst draft this year no matter what they do in their later rounds just for the simple fact that they could have had a stud of a rb in either jackson or jones and passed on both of them and had to settle on jones of notre dame.

the best draft so far, and probably the entire draft for their first two picks alone, goes to the lions. Adding Roy Williams and Kevin Jones to Joey Harrington, Charles Rodgers, and Hazim, is a freakingly scary young offense.

and i agree with whomever it was who posted how much of a monster line the raiders have rebuilt with their picks of gallery and grove. it kinda makes sense for grove to go there too with his do anything to get the job done mentality.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 03:49 AM

cooley was given a grade if 78 by espn's team of scouts and taylor was a 99 but under taylor's grade it has an alert about his character on and off the field. anyone know what they might be talking about?

MTK 04-25-2004 11:48 AM

Character issues are always the knock on Miami guys.

Daseal 04-25-2004 12:24 PM

Uhm, Vick can't take hits? The dude get's leveled fairly often. Only time I remember him going out with injury was the practically season ending injury in pre-season last year.

Dave Butz Baby! 04-25-2004 01:21 PM

Jacksonville gets Earnest Wilford from Va Tech in round four. I like that pick.. he seems like a really good kid.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 01:26 PM
Uhm, Vick can't take hits? The dude get's leveled fairly often. Only time I remember him going out with injury was the practically season ending injury in pre-season last year.
he had a shoulder injury the year before and he had ankle injuries at tech as well as chest problems too i think or that may have been at the same time he had his shoulder injury with atlanta. plus i've heard mortenson or someone on espn talk about vick still expiriencing discomfort with his leg.

skinsfanthru&thru 04-25-2004 01:28 PM
Jacksonville gets Earnest Wilford from Va Tech in round four. I like that pick.. he seems like a really good kid.
he was a pretty solid player for va tech. the only time he got too full of himself that i know of is when he said something along the lines that he was as good as, if not better than, larry fitzgerald, and it was because he wasn't in a more pass oriented offense that he didn't have similar stats and press.

skins009 04-25-2004 02:07 PM

Guys there are 10 more picks till were up for our 5th rounder, in my opinion the two best prospects still on the board are NIck Leckey C from kansas state and Jason Peters that massive blocking tightend.
Did I mension that trade to get Cooley was probably the dumbest trade ever. More on that later.

Hail to the Redskins 04-25-2004 02:10 PM

Damn...

Dave Ball and Chad Lavalais both JUST went off the board here in the 5th round...

Both were projected 2nd-3rd rounders.... they could have been a GREAT steal for us here in thwe 5th... DAMN IT!

skins009 04-25-2004 02:17 PM

Were almost up

RedskinPete 04-25-2004 02:23 PM

So who is the next Redskin?

so who are we going to pick? DE or DT or a O lineman?

Gmanc711 04-25-2004 02:24 PM

Were up right after Jacksonville

MTK 04-25-2004 02:25 PM

Skins are up

Gmanc711 04-25-2004 02:25 PM

We are on the Clock with #151

Gmanc711 04-25-2004 02:26 PM

Awsome! A Commercial Right During Our Pick!!!

MTK 04-25-2004 02:27 PM

Dave Butz Baby! 04-25-2004 02:27 PM
We are on the Clock with #151
Just in time to go to commercial...

But we picked Mark Wilson, OT from Cal.

MTK 04-25-2004 02:27 PM

the pick is in, OT Mark Wilson from California

http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/mark_wilson

Gmanc711 04-25-2004 02:28 PM

We took Mark Wilson, a OT from California

Gmanc711 04-25-2004 02:29 PM

I'm still kinda dissapointed we didnt grab a DT or DE. Oh well, what # is our next pick?

skins009 04-25-2004 02:30 PM

What the hell???????????????????
Nick Leckey was on the board. He's a damn good center.

Dave Butz Baby! 04-25-2004 02:30 PM

Our sixth rounder is number 180.

skins009 04-25-2004 02:31 PM

They must be thinking about getting rid of Samuels, bacuae Bugel was raving about how they have great depth at o-line during mini-camp.
