Uhhhh, I'm uh happy for Dave. He uh deserved to uh a head coach uh, even if it was uh an assistant head coach. Kidding aside he's probably more qualified then he gets credit for (42-31 as head coach of the Dolphins with Jay Fiedler as his QB). Certainly more qualified as a head coach then Gailey |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I'm amazed at all the coach's getting fired and getting picked up quickly by other teams. Especially Co-ordinator jobs. Maybe I shouldn't be but I am.
I understand HC Fox getting another chance, one could argue he took his teams to the playoffs and SB's. All was quiet with Al Saunders but rumors are he's heading to the Raiders or so I thought. I guess I'm just supprised at all the retreads getting bounced around. Maybe getting hired under the right circumstances and right personell will make them look good again. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Wasn't someone looking at Fassel also? lol. Not that he's probably not good cause in hindsight he's probably better then Zorn. lol.

With the terrible front office we had, who knows. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I'll be interested in seeing if McCarthy can pull off a Super Bowl win seeing as how he's the lone offensive head coach left in the playoffs. Of course there were only 4 out of 12 offensive coaches to begin with in the playoffs.

Good for him. He's no Belichick but he has been relatively successful everywhere that he has gone, except maybe as HC of the Bears. I wish him well. |

That has to be a death blow for Campbell as a starter. Jason never grasped the Saunders offense here, and he was thoroughly outplayed by Todd Collins, who knew the system well. I wonder if Saunders will reach out to Todd Collins, since he knows the offense. Poor Jason lmfao!!! He'd lose his job to Collins AGAIN!!! |

He knows the playbook enough that he could step in, but they could easily bring in another guy to be the future. Then JC just stays on as the new Todd Collins and in 8 years he gets traded, plays four games at the end of a season leading his team to the playoffs. Oh the irony. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
JC should be ahead of the game with Saunders coming in. His experience should give him a leg up on the competition.

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Hue Jackson preferred Bruce Gradkowski last year. It remains to be seen if Oakland re-signs him based on this fact...

Looks like they should be renamed the Oakland Redders. XD

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
This is a good move for Campbell right? Seems like Campbell could have a future being starter now right? I like the direction the Raiders are going but how is that they are ahead and more advanced than the SKINS???????

He studied that playbook hard...knows it inside and out. Oakland has a FAR better offensive line, made some great draft picks last year, so this could actually work for JC. He had no time to run the offense here...he had zero protection. When Collins came in, we had no deep threat, we played conservative and safe with him. He knew the offense for a decade, of course he's going to know where to throw the ball without thinking. |

I don't know if Oakland is actually ahead of us, although it could be valid argument.. Shanahan came in last year and blew up both offense and defense systems, while Oakland didn't.. They made some tweaks to offense but did not change the whole system.. So that is the reason why if Oakland is actually ahead of us.. |

Solid o-line + solid RBs (especially McFadden)...they're definitely doing it right. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Let's not forget Oakland was "behind" us yet still finished with a better record than us in Zorn's final year and JaMarcus played for half that year. I guess we were the ones who were actually behind the Raiders.
Jacoby Ford, Marcel Reece, Rolando McClain, Zach Miller, Lamarr Houston, McFadden, Michael Bush, Janikowski, Lechler. That's not too shabby a list. Veldheer and Murphy pretty solid too. |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
With a new HC and OC, should be interesting to see how that all works out for Oakland.

True fact |
Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
Raiders might be headed in the right direction, but you can never be too sure. I mean, in spite of improving, they still fired their coach and are suing him. So it's tough to know how much you can count on them. I think the Chiefs are legit but not sold on the Chargers or Broncos, so they're in the right division to make a move

Re: NFL Coaching Rumors and Moves
I looked through some of these posts and didn't see mention. The Cleveland Browns hired Dick Jauron yesterday as DC, Philly fans feeling down because they missed out on their top 2 candidates. Looks like the Browns move to the 4-3 base

I really like the coaching moves the Browns are making

So apparently the Browns requested to interview Danny Smith, and the Redskins said no.

It must have been for the same position becuase most teams won't say no if it's a step up. |
