Damn! I didn't see this coming. I thought if anything, something might happen over draft weekend, if both teams got desperate
if I had read this before I made my similar post I would've just simply said that I agreed

I must say this is very reminiscent of a Snyder move. Giving up a high draft pick for a big name vet past his prime.

McNabb notoriously underthrows receivers and can't create with his feet anymore. In fact I'd argue that JC is more mobile that DM right now. Unless that line gets a ton better, we've come nowhere with this. I wonder what all the lovers would be saying if it was Cerrato who made this same move?

I'm still undecided, but I'm leaning towards not really liking this, especially since we'll probably give him a lucrative extension as well. With this move, I now forsee at least a few current players traded before the draft.

I am seriously hoping a second shoe drops that makes this trade more palatable. I feel like McNabb in the SB :vomit:

I love how there is always haters no matter what the Skins do. I love this move. Now we draft Okung and hopefully get a 3rd or 4th rounder for Campbell. Thank you Easter Bunny

I'd rather think of it as a "wait and see." When we see the finalized details of the deal, and see what we do with JC, then I think we'll be in a better spot to evaluate it.
Missed 2 games in 09
Missed 2 games in 07
Missed 6 games in 06
Missed 7 games in 05

17 games in 5 Years? That's not a healthy QB. Gotta figure in the time he was attempting to play through injuries like his rib/abdominal issues.
Many of these years he was playing behind a FAR better line than what we can offer here.

Still not thinking he's worth a HIGH 2nd and a 3rd/4th. Sorry.
So he's missed 4 games the last 3 seasons... Sorry but I don't see where there's a problem with injuries.

no matter what we now know the o-line will be addressed early in the draft. either at the 4th pick or with picks we acquire through Campbell trade/moving down. Shanallen have been setting us up to solve the o-line problems (LJ, Willie, Mcnabb) and now we can rest assure something will be done.
Any insight into whether mcnabb is a good fit in shanny's offense?

Also, perhaps it is easier to transition between offenses with a vet at the helm, so that next year, mcnabb will be able to tutor whoever we draft at QB (ryan mallett anyone?). Hope we get something good in exchange for JC when we deal him
from what ive seen of mallett he is a statue, shanny likes a guy who can move a little. hes got a huge arm but accuracy seems to be an issue. dont know if hes a good fit here

McNabbs stats are not that much better especially with a better OL.
look past just those basic stats

Philly wasn't so hot at pass blocking anyways.. they were a good run blocking team, but McNabb took quite a few sacks and were ranked in the 20s as well

So JC is headed to Buffalo? That's still being mentioned on ESPNRADIO

And for all the pundits out there fawning over Kolb, he's thrown a grand total of 130 passes.

I love how someone said that they're were 99% sure we wouldn't get mcnabb.

that 1 % is huge now.

McNabb doesn't need Vick speed. He just needs to be able to extend the freaking play, run bootlegs, and scramble when he has to. Everyone and their mom knows Fat Andy likes to pass in excess and keep his QB in the pocket.
