SS isn't in charge of that.
as far as batting %, overall it's not that bad, but on super high price FAs... it's terrible, and you need to hit at least .800+ on those. i think we're still paying for lloyd... seriously? ouch.
I was kidding. I understand that he can't walk down the hall and cancel a radio show. And with the exception of the disastrous 2006 class, we haven't missed on too many free agents since the Spurrier days. I'm not saying we're a perfectly run organization, but that idiot needs to get some facts. |

You typed Boldin. People reading see that and have to respond to it's ridiculousness right there. There's an edit button, you know. :) |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I voted "Like the player, hate the money" simply because I'm not sure that he'll continue to be the disruptive force he has been. He's one of those guys who can get a little lazy and I don't know if I trust Blache to use him correctly. He freelanced a lot in Tennessee and Washington has not, traditionally, allowed their DTs to do that. I hope it ends up being a great deal, I'm just going to have to take a wait-and-see approach right now.

Yeah, he also does something better than Carlos, commits lots of personal fouls at critical moments that cost your team 15 yards and is not as good in man to man coverage which we use often. |

I'd love to see Hall and Rodgers become a great CB tandem and Haynesworth continuing to dominate. I would love to see Haynesworth make guys like Carter and Taylor better, we should get more than 24 sacks next season |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Hall's sure to be a leader back there and the DL is going to have a lot of fun.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Actually, I think the backfield of Hall/Rogers is going to be fine - as long as they can work together, I think their styles will be complimentary. Can Smoot be a vialble 3rd corner anymore? dunno.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
I think the biggest and most important thing about these two players is that they can both change the football game. Haynesworth can get pressure and he can help DEs get free and create pressure; he can also stop the run. Hall makes plays, he gets beat, but he gets some picks, he plays the ball well. It's been a little while since the Skins D really made plays, particularly last season, it seemed like they were a "bend, but don't break" type of D and it worked out fairly well. However, I'd rather have a defense that can dominate a football game (like Pittsburgh's) and change games by creating turnovers. Hall (to a lesser extent) and Haynesworth can do that

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Agree with you. Just want to add that I remember it seemed like DHall was always around the ball last year.

Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Wow.
He's a dumbass for signing the top free agent available when all of the "experts" said our cap wouldn't permit it? He's a financial, specifically a salary cap genius. Every year, he's able to turn what looks like cap hell into the capability to sign anyone we need or want. He does it with how contracts are written, plus every year we have some big names who are committed to the team and are willing to restructure to free up cap room. They wouldn't do that if they hated Snyder and weren't buying into the team's future. That was just an ignorant statement.
No, it was just an accurate statement. Backloading a contract to get around the cap has absolutely nothing to do with making a smart player investment. Haynesworth will be gone inside of three years, and I doubt he can even give us 14 games this year(assuming he does not blunder himself into a suspension). The leagues is filled with examples(look at the Cowboy's) of how buying the hot name fails and how building a deep team succeeds. Please Dan, Please... invest all of your money in Six Flags. Go for broke and ACHIEVE it! |
Re: Albert Haynesworth is a Redskin!!!!
Id rather have Dan Snyder than Jeffrey Lorie (eagles owner). Those fans are so pissed every year because they have had a very good team for the past decade and are always 20 mil under the cap. Imagine if they had added a piece here or there...suckers.
Time for some analysis - The skins blitz on the majority of their possessions...towards the end of last year it was in the 60% range for the season. This gave alot of our players the opportunity to make plays one on one with a blocker. Yet we consistently could not make the play. Hopefully the addition of AH will have some of these guys running free at the QB. Also... we dont play man that often. Blache mixes mostly Cover 3, Quarters and Cover 2 with some man on one side with safety help and what not. Hall is terrific in zone coverage. Im glad we held on to him. |
